The college is equipped with various facilities for the students-
The college has a well trained and extremely knowledgeable and approachable group of faculty members. It has a total of 99 faculties working at different positions which are enumerated below:
Ques. Where is the NSUT Delhi campus located?
Ques. How is the NSUT Delhi hostel accommodation?
Ques. How good are DTU, BITS, NSIT, and IIIT Delhi, as compared to each other in terms of placements and research opportunities?
Ques. Is it important to qualify JEE mains cutoff to get admission in NSUT? I am a general candidate.
Ques. Which is better for CS: the NSUT or DTU?
Ans. If you are genuinely interested in ECE then you should opt for MAIT. Although from the viewpoint of future prospects, NIT ICE is far better than MAIT ECE. Deciding Factors: ECE is a core engineering discipline and you need to have good skills to secure decent placement opportunities. The reputation of the college and brand name matters for placement. There are certain advantages to pursuing a course at NSIT. The brand name has its perks. One other advantage of NSIT is that you can choose to study any subjects from any discipline later on in your course as an elective. Also, for immediate placement after graduation, NSIT is the ideal option. The table below will give you a brief overview of the two options. Particulars MAIT ECE NSIT ICE Average CTC 3.2 LPA 6 LPA Course Fee (1st year) ? 2.5 Lakhs ?1.9 Lakhs Entrance Criteria IPU CET JEE Mains If you want a career in ECE, go for MAIT. Otherwise, NSIT ICE is the better alternative. Read more
Ans. For CS, DTU will be the better choice. Given below are the reasons for choosing DTU over the other institutes. The table below can show a brief overview of the institutions: Particulars IIIT-D DTU NSIT DAIICT NIT IIIT-A Median Salary 16.97 LPA 11.17 LPA 18 LPA 10.16 LPA 11.58 LPA 13.25 LPA Fees 15 lakhs 1.66 lakhs 1.9 lakhs 1.97 lakhs 5.34 lakhs 5.34 lakhs Advantages - DTU: The coding culture at DTU is very developed. Students from all the branches, be it CS or Engineering Physics believes that Coding is the ultimate future of engineering. DCECoders is the Codechef made by DTU students. It is the best place to learn coding on campus. IEEE, ASME, CSI, and IET to smaller organizations put effort into the coding competition. From time to time, you will have coding competitions and classes on the campus. DTU has over 50 societies that need good coders. Where you can apply your coding knowledge to real-time work. Bening situated in the capital of the country, DTU offers good exposure and opportunities. Delhi-NCR is a hub for IT companies, you may be able to get a job in NCR. The institute has a rich legacy of over 75 years. It boasts of a strong alumni network. It has a brand value similar to that of old IITs. The campus is ragging free and seniors are quite helpful. The 85% Delhi quota at the institute brings affluent crowds of Delhi to the campus. The placement process is managed by talented students of the institute. The placement at the institute is great. Even though it is an engineering college the non-technical placement rate of the institute is impressive. Even if you realize after a few months of your course that engineering is not for you, you will still get to learn a lot from the campus culture.Read more
Ans. One of my friends is a student at DTU. He had the choice of taking admission in any of the courses at these colleges. Given below is a comparison of both these colleges. Particulars NSIT DTU Median Salary Rs. 18 LPA Rs 11.17 Lakhs Fees Rs 1.9 LPA Rs. 1.66 LPA Traveling Distance: If you are not opting for a PG or hostel, you should consider the distance of the institutes from your home. Choose the institute closer to your home. Otherwise, you will lose 2-3 hours in commute, daily. You will almost waste 1500 in the 4-year duration. The total time you invested in preparing for JEE may be less than that. Peer-group: (DTU~NSIT) The quality of the peer-group at both NSIT and DTU are almost similar. You will have the brightest mind of the country as your peer at both institutes. You can hear people say that the cutoff for COE at NSIT is better than DTU. This is only normal as NSIT has a much smaller batch size as compared to DTU. As of 2020 statistics, NSIT is preferred for CO, CSAI. Whereas, DTU is unparalleled for ECE & Mech. Students from outside of Delhi tend to prefer DTU. It is also observed that reserved category students prefer DTU more. Curriculum: (DTU~NSIT) At NSIT and DTU, students can choose electives from the first-year. The syllabus has recently been revised in both organizations; both the institutes implement the CGPA framework. DTU follows a relative grading system. DTU also allows for taking online courses (MOOCs). Faculty: (NSIT>DTU) NSIT may have slightly better faculty. However, at both the colleges, you will learn more through peer-learning than from faculty. Placement: (DTU>NSIT) For software job profiles NSIT is better. Whereas, DTU is better for core and non-tech job profiles. Many may say DTU has a disadvantage of larger batch size which results in bad placement. This is not the case, in fact, the competition keeps you motivated to deal well. The median salary at DTU is 11.17 LPA. For average students, DTU offers better placement. NSIT may offer one or two better placement offers if you belong to the top of your class. College Life: (DTU>>NSIT) College life at DTU is much better than NSIT. The rules and regulations at NSIT are very strict. There are records of freshers’ welcome being canceled and fests organized at the last minute at NSIT. DTU administration has a more chilled approach. It conducts 5 or more fests every year. Recently DTU started an attendance app and students need to maintain at least 50% attendance. Coding Culture: (DTU~NSIT) Coding culture at both the institutes is on par. Since you can learn everything about coding from the internet. In the past, NSIT students showed brilliance in coding competitions like Coding Blocks, Ninjas. However, the GSoC section was better at DTU. Hostel: (NSIT>DTU) If you want a good hostel life then NSIT is better. Laboratories: (DTU>NSIT) For Mechanical and Electronics laboratory facilities at DTU is better. Currently, the ECE department at DTU is involved in some of the state-of-the-art works. To your next-door neighbor, DCE (DTU Delhi) is more recognizable. In the tech-industry NSIT and DTU, both are equally reputed. DTU campus has better utilization of space and it is quite beautiful. However, at both campuses construction work is going on currently. DTU has wonderful facilities for all sports like football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, Kabaddi, etc.Read more
Ans. Since you didn’t mention your branch of preference, it is difficult to compare these institutes. The table below show a brief overview of the institutions. Particulars NSIT DTU NIT Warangal Median Salary Rs 11 Lakhs Rs 11.17 Lakhs Rs 13.3 Lakhs Fees Rs 6.7 Lakhs Rs 7.6 Lakhs Rs 5.32 Lakhs Entrance JEE Mains JEE Mains JEE Mains An overall comparison of these institutes is given below. Administration: (DTU, NSIT> NIT Warangal) NIT Warangal is a reputed institute and you will be among good peers. However, the standard of teaching faculty, administration of the institute started lagging behind since 2012. The infrastructure is also not at the same level as it used to be. The administration at DTU and NSIT is better than NIT Warangal. DTU and NSIT have maintained their reputation over the years. Brand Value: (DTU~NSIT~NIT Warangal) In terms of brand value, all these institutes are on the same level. Placements: (DTU~NSIT~NIT Warangal)) Most recruiting companies do not travel from north to south for tier 2 colleges like DTU, NSIT, NIT Warangal. Placement opportunities offered at these institutes are on par. Salary packages offered to depend on the merit of the students. Location: (DTU, NSIT> NIT Warangal) NIT Warangal enjoys a locational benefit for placement as it is situated close to Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. However, Warangal does not have an airport which is a disadvantage. For startup/off-campus initiatives/NGOs etc DTU/NSIT offers better opportunities as these are situated in the country capital. Social life in Delhi is definitely better than in Warangal. For all these reasons, choosing DTU or NSIT will be better.Read more
Ans. NSIT and DTU take admission through JEE Mains. If you are not interested in taking JEE Advanced next year for taking admission to IITs. You can apply for NSIT or DTU based on your JEE Mains score. Admission Procedure: After clearing JEE Mains and boards you need to register on the website of the Joint Admission Committee. The admission procedures usually start during the month of May every year. The institute will issue a common merit list for all the registered students. If you have the required cutoff for the branch you are interested in, you will be allotted a seat. The cutoff required for admission at DTU and NSIT for 2020 was as follows. Courses DTU NSIT Computer Engineering 8852 2336 IT 10431 6546 Software Engineering 12404 - Mathematics & Computing 13894 9172 Mechanical Engineering 22470 22708 Electronics and Communication Engineering 17765 - Civil Engineering 31521 - Electrical and Electronics Engineering - 13693 Electrical Engineering - 21023 Electronic Instrumentation and Control - 25538 Manufacturing & Automation - 27663 Biotechnology - 34182 Artificial Intelligence - 1868 In both universities, 85 percent of the total seats are reserved for the domiciled students while 15 percent of the seats are open for the other state candidates.Read more
