Ans. IIT Roorkee ranks 8th for engineering by NIRF while IIIT Hyderabad is ranked 43rd by NIRF and IIT Hyderabad 17th. IIT roorkee is one of the oldest institutions in the country and has a brand value for excellence in academics. But as per recommendations provided by the US National Science Foundation, IIIT-H is the premier research institute in India for computer science engineering studies. Category IIT Hyderabad IIT Roorkee IIIT Hyderabad Total fees 4.02 lacs 1.74 lacs 5.6 lacs Seat Intake 30 54 60 Companies Visited Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, etc. Amazon, IBM, Google, Accenture, etc. Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, etc. Highest Package 60 lakhs 64 lakhs 46.26 lakhs Placement  IIT Hyderabad Some of the major recruiters were Bank Of America, DRDO, Flipkart, HSBC, among 20 others The highest CTC offered to the students was 60 LPA while the average salary was 16 Lakhs. IIT Roorkee The average placement rate of the institute was recorded to be 95% The highest CTC offered to the students was 64 LPA while the average salary was 24 LPA. Top recruiters include DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, UBer, BARC etc. IIIT Hyderabad 100% placement record for CSE Highest CTC offered was 46 LPA while average CTC offered was in the range 18-21 LPA Major recruiters were Oracle, Adobe, NVIDIA, Deloitte, Amazon amongst 200 others Curriculum At IIT Hyderabad, the course also includes certification in Data Science which is the most sought after skill set according to current industry standards. It is very tough to distinguish between these colleges as these are premier institutes of the nation. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available. Faculties are highly qualified, few being involved in many government funded research projects. Hence, it is up to the student to choose a given course in a particular college.Read more

Ans. In the year 2017, IIIT Hyderabad became the first Indian engineering college from where Apple hired programmers during campus placement. More than 350 students (from BTech, BE, MTech, and MSc research fields) of the institute registered for Apple. The steps involved in the interview process of Apple are as follows: Conduction of a coding test hosted on Hackerrank. Personal Interview Round Following are a few more details about the same: 35 students were shortlisted for an interview based on their performance on the coding test. Students who are well-versed with Python are preferred for product development and research and development profiles.  Students having knowledge of application-specific integrated circuits, design verification, and 2D-3D graphic in mobile communication also have a decent chance of getting selected. Ans. All the above-mentioned institutions are among India’s top colleges but in terms of CSE, IIIT Hyderabad is a step ahead due to all-rounded faculty and course curriculums. The core subjects of CSE are being taught in 1st Year itself at IIIT Hyderabad while in IIT Roorkee & IIT BHU 1st year students are taught mainly Science Courses, other departmental courses as well as some extracurriculars. The research culture at IIIT Hyderabad is also better than any of these other institutes. Beside curriculum and academics if we take other things in comparisons like campus life then the order will be IIT(BHU)>IITR>BITS>IIIT Hyderabad since in IIITH there is less exposure other than Technical Sector while one can have a good campus life in IIT’s as well as BITS. In terms of flexibility BITS and IIT’s are much better than IIITH. The same follows for college fests, clubs, societies. IIT’s and BITS have many societies and clubs ranging from drama societies, arts, and cultural clubs, etc. There are many good fests organized in IIT BHU and Roorkee. Every year Inter IIT events also take place in which students from all IIT participate in cultural, sports, and technical events. If we talk about alumni base, then IIT(BHU) being a 100-Year-old Institution has the largest and most diverse alumni network. IIT Roorkee also has a vast alumni network. So, in terms of the alumni network the order will be IIT(BHU)>IITR>BITS>IIITH. Now in terms of placements, IIT’s are known for their good placements records. There are other departments apart from CSE in IITs, so companies are not only restricted to software, but students are also placed in other sectors (Non-CSE jobs) like Management, Consulting, Business, etc. which diversifies the opportunities for students. BITS also being a brand name attracts many top software firms. So according to placements, the preference of these colleges will be in the order IITR~IIT(BHU) >IIITH>BITS. If you want to pursue higher studies MS/Ph.D. abroad then IIT’s must be given priorities than BITS and IIITH due to reputation and brand name of IIT’s all over the world. Since your question is restricted to CSE Education then overall the review is IIITH>IITR~IIT(BHU) ~BITS. Read more
