The overall college is too good. The facilities provided are very good though it lacks in research areas. More work should be done to motivate students to work in the research areas.
I got the admission by clearing IIT JEE Advanced. Admission process involves jee main, jee advanced and then counseling process. Students must clear jee main and jee advanced to appear in counselling process. Jee main is a two step exam, one happens in December and other in April whereas Jee Advanced is a two paper exam which happens in May.
Absolutely horrible faculty and staff at the institute.
The college accepts IIT JEE advanced scores just like all other IITs. The exam is pretty competitive and requires extensive preparation. I secured a mediocre rank and opted for chemical engineering as my major. It's a pretty good department as far as academics are concerned, however job prospects.
i did'nt find any bad in institute but some student may fill.ourcollege is best.
one of the top category engineering institute in india.admission process is through iitjee entrance exam.i opted this course because i am interested in this course.and iit guwahati imparts basic of biotechnology along with advance study.i enjoyed learning this course at iit guwahati.
One thing about Indian institute of technology, guwahati it is naturally best place for live and weather is good. People are also good. Academic people, administrative people are very helpful. It was best times of my life.
I got admission in Indian institute of technology, guwahati through the national engineering entrance test JEE. For IIT there are two phase entrance exam is conducted one is JEE MAINS and another is JEE ADVANCED. on my time one jee mains is conducted in April month but now there are two jee mains one in January and another is in April (both in first week). After qualifying jee mains you have to appear for JEE ADVANCED. Jee Advanced is conducted in last week of may( 24 to 29th may in Sunday). There are two paper on jee advanced one in morning and another is in evening. After qualifying both exam there is counselling called joint seat allocation authority of india (JOSAA). Then you after that ...
Placements are good many big companies arrive here department of computer science see a huge influx of companies and companies here do not even see your branch if u are worthy u can sit in any company and get your dream job
College management is really great and that's one of the reason why we are ranked no 1 among all the colleges of India for having one of the best campus. There's proper students academic section who is incharge of all the other necessary formalities.
The normal procedure is headed by CBSE. It's a two stage process, there's prelims and advanced. JEE mains exam is based on CBSE NCERT and is conducted by JOSAA on first Sunday of April. Also if you qualify JEE main you are eligible for advanced which is conducted in May normally. JEE mains is criteria for many of the Engineering colleges whereas qualifying JEE advanced lets you enter into premier engineering colleges of India.
Overall its a good college. But problem is with location its located in north guwahati region which is good as well as not good.
From starting mechanics fascinated me so i pursued in mechanical engineering. JEE Advanced and JEE mains helps in getting admission in IIT and NITs. After result i.e you are qualified you have to go for counselling which is online in that you get a college after that you can opt according to your convenience and rank.
The environment is great. It's so pleasant and green. It's amazing to be a student here. The students are very friendly and kind. There is a vast variety of flora and fauna available. The only downside is that being away from main city, we don't get much attention.
I chose design at IIT Guwahati because it is one of the best design departments in India. It is also internationally famous for being one of the leading Ui UX research institute. The entrance exam is Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED). Over 15- 20 thousand students appear for the exam and only a few toppers get into an IIT as the seats are very less (45 in IIT Guwahati). Reservations come into play of course.
All are mostly pros. But there are some cons too. Cons- Good restaurants who serve great food are not present. Sometimes life is very fast paced with a lot of pressure due to which we cannot enjoy life(only sometimes) Stationaries are quite costly such as xerox, etc Mess food is not upto the mark but they try very hard to uplift themselves.
I got admission based on Gate 2019 Exam. My first preference was Geotechnical Engineering and I got it in a spot round. Spot round was held for all the courses on July and I had to be present for it.The spot round was based on Higher gate Score. Those with higher score easily got what they wanted. Apart from it reservation also played an important role.
College timing in the morning should exceed about half an hour in winters. Because it is very difficult to awake in the morning and to go for class. Sometimes we have to miss our breakfast. It is very difficult for the teachers also.
