Its old, but the basics are needed to go to advanced stages. The Industrial Training is done once after 2 nd year. Older Faculties know about the field but are slow and with time, they have lost interest in teaching due to less interest shown by engineering students. The new Faculties have the passion and give more time in teaching and researching.
Courses are up to the mark, updated and according to what the current industry demands. The faculties are super talented and have real experience of the corporate world which they share with us. The practice exposures are also provided
Curriculums were outdated. They were/are using the same things that were taught to the previous generations. Engineering is not a stale subject, you need to upgrade it at times. No doubt, they are updating their course periodically but it's very slow and doesn't overrule the fact that it's outdated.
First year almost all the subjects are common in every stream. We had no civil engineering subject in our first year. From 2nd year onward you get to know about civil engineering from various subjects and labs. For exposure you can do internships in your second and third year where you will learn practicals of civil engineering which you cant learn in your college. Overall the faculties are average and the course is very small since they don't want to teach you. You can easily pass the exam by studying the night before exam
The cources are not very good, actually not designed with the fulfill ment of the current demands, also we have absolute marking,so getting 80 % requires have to really very work hard, while in nit patna and mnnit bhopal has relative marking, so this thing most of the students doesn't know before joining the college, but it effects their all 4 years of college.
Also coming to the faculties, as faculties also have their reservation while joining the institution, like whether they are sc st or obc,so really we don't have good knowledgable professors like iits, everything we have to see from youtube or internet.and this is for all nits and iits nit only my college. And one of my professor named ...

It is kind of expensive after Smriti Irani made fees hike. For income above 5 lakh, tuition fees is 1. 25 lakh excluding other fees. Although there is some waiver for economically backward students. The other fees like hostel, LAN, TV, Gym, Sports, Library etc are same for all students.

This Institute is not research driven for B Tech students as professors and student interaction is rare. But Placement is comparatively good. Some big companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs etc come for recruitment. PG programs are not that good compared to UG.

The course curriculum vast as we all about mechanical engineering branch. The syllabus was not much updated but contain almost all the required concepts for a basic core sector job. Also, there are various projects, workshops, competitions and activities organized by authorities and clubs to enhance our practical knowledge.
Regular assignments and tutorial classes are assigned for clearing our doubts relating to the course.
During summer and winter breaks, to gain industrial knowledge, students do internships and the college(training and placement cell) helps to organize different internships.
I can't say that studying the course can alone make the student industry proficient, we have to lea...
