Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), established in the year 1972, is a state university located in Darbhanga, Bihar. Currently, it has 25 Affiliated Colleges and 43 Constituent Colleges. LNMU has been accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ grade. The University provides several PPG Diploma in Geriatic CareG and Doctoral level courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Management. Lalit Narayan Mithila University Distance Education was created in the year 1998 and fulfills the need of students in a distance mode. LNMU Ph.D. Courses

It offers Ph.D. Programs in Ancient History, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sanskrit. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of Post-Graduation marks and Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) conducted by the university.

The University offers education in open distance learning mode to make education more accessible to working students. It provides education at UG and PG levels in different subjects viz., B.Ed, M.A in Education, BLIS and MLIS.   1. Library:  The University has a well-furnished library with rich collection books in various disciplines. The library has a collection of 1,22,523 books, 14,660 journals, 2359 bind back volumes, and newspapers.
  2. Hostels: University provides separate living facilities for boys and girls. There are four hostels on campus.
  3. Medical facility: The university has its own in-house medical care unit. It has own well-equipped hospital and has in-house doctors to look after that offer help at any hour of the day or night. The hospital has its own doctors, nurses and other paramedical staffs who help the students to ensure a healthy campus time.
  4. Sports infrastructure:To promote the sports culture among its students, the university has two well-equipped playgrounds where the students can practice any outdoor sports.

Ques. How good is the faculty at LNMU?

Ans. The college has a bunch of knowledgeable and well-educated teachers. All the staff members are extremely friendly and supportive. Proper attention is given to every student. All the teachers are oriented towards providing quality education.

Ques. What is the minimum eligibility criterion for admission in B.Ed course?

Ans. Any bachelor’s degree of the 10+2+3 pattern or Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/Humanity or B.E/ B.Tech with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply. Admission is granted on the basis of marks secured in CET conducted by the university.

Ques. What is the application procedure of LNMU college?

Ans. The candidates are required to fill an application form via online or offline mode. An application fee of Rs.1100 is to be paid through challan. All the necessary documents should be attached along with the form. Depending upon the course, the admission will take place on merit or entrance basis.

Ques. What is the exemption criteria from Ph.D. Ability Test (PAT)?

Ans. The following are exempted from PAT

  • Non Teaching employees who have an appointment of more than 5 years and have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s degree and have published at least 2 research papers in any reputed journal are exempted.
  •  Candidates with UGC NET/GATE/CSIR NET scores are also exempted from appearing for PAT.

Ans. The fee structure is minimalistic. The college provides scholarships to top rank students. Other than that the students can look for scholarship options on the government education portals.

Ques. Can we opt for distance education in LNMU?

 Ans. Yes, distance education facilities are provided by the university. It offers a total of 500 seats per course. The application process is completely offline. The selection of candidates to various courses through distance mode is purely on merit basis.

Ans. The various courses offered by the college at the PG level are, MBA, MA, MD, MSC, MCom, MCA, LLB, ME.d, MS and MDS.
