AIIMS MBBS Admission 2017

MBBS Program offered by AIIMS Delhi is one of the most coveted medical courses across the country. Admission to MBBS Program at AIIMS is conducted through an entrance exam held by the Institute on all India basis. This entrance is followed by declaration of results and counselling procedure for admission. AIIMS Delhi has total of 107 seats where 50 seats are for general students, 27 for OBC,  15 for SC , 8 for ST while 7 seats are reserved  for foreign nationals, annually.

Eligibility is dependent upon various factors enlisted below:

  1. Academic Qualification:
  • Student should have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate of Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent Examination from a recognized board of education of any Indian State with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects
  • Minimum marks of qualification for General/OBC is 60% and SC/ST is 50%
  1. Age: Student should have attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission (2017) Students need to fill the application form online. They must keep the following things in mind while filling the form:
  • The application fees for General/OBC candidates cost Rs. 1000 and for ST/SC cost Rs. 800.
  • The students must not leave any column blank while filling the form
  • The changes in credentials i.e.  Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Nationality, Marital Status can be done during Registration process can be done only till 23.02.2017

The Entrance Examination for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and six other AIIMS for the session 2017 will be conducted through Online Computer Based Test (CBT) Examination.

  • The Examination is to be conducted in two shifts in different centers all over India on Sunday, 28th May, 2017.
  • Applicants may familiarize themselves with the method of Examination by taking the Mock Test available in the website after upload of Admit Card.
  • Applicants must be prepared to appear in the Examination in either of the shifts. The Competitive Entrance Examination will have one paper consisting of 200 Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge/Aptitude. AIIMS Delhi UG Admission 2017-18

AIIMS Delhi provides bachelor’s degree in various domain. MBBS being the most coveted one, other courses are enlisted in below table:

The admission is based on performance in admission exam conducted by AIIMS. For B.Sc., students must fulfill following eligibility criteria

  • Must be an Indian resident
  • has attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission
  • has a minimum aggregate mark required in qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or equivalent:
  1. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing: 55% for Gen/OBC (50% in case of SCs/STs categories) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  2. For Bachelor of Optometry / B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Technology in Radiography Courses: 50% for Gen / OBC (45% in case of SCs/ STs Categories) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology OR Mathematics.
  3. Note:  For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course, only female candidates are eligible.(Common to AIIMS New Delhi & Six AIIMS like Institutions)

The entrance examination is conducted for all the bachelor programs. The entrance exam pattern of all courses is enlisted below:

  1. For B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing

The entrance exam will be conducted in 11 cities. The seats will be filled strictly on merit on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates at the Entrance Examination conducted by the Institute. The Entrance Examination will be conducted in English language only. One paper of 2 hours duration and consisting of four parts containing objective type (Multiple Choice) Questions. The marks distribution is given as per following table:

  1. For Bachelor of Optometry / B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Technology in Radiography courses

The Entrance Examination for Bachelor in Optometry / B.Sc. (H) Medical Technology in Radiography Courses will be conducted in Delhi only. One paper of 1.5 hours’ duration and consisting of objective type (Multiple Choice) questions in four parts of 30 questions each in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The candidate may either attempt biology part or Mathematics part.

  1. B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic)

The admission to B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) is done on basis of two rounds of assessment i.e. Written Exam and Personal Interview

  • Written Exam: Candidate will appear for an entrance examination (Written Test) of 90 minutes duration consisting of one paper containing 70 objective type (Multiple Choice) questions in the subjects of fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.
  • Personal Interview: On the basis of the merit list based on the marks secured in Stage-I, candidate three times the number of seats will be invited for Personal Assessment by a Selection Committee. Marks in personal interview will be awarded out of 30.

Admission will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks secured by candidates in St1age-I & Stage-II.

AIIMS Delhi provides various PG courses like Msc in various domains like nursing, pharmacology, biophysics, etc. The admission is based solely on basis of entrance exams. The number of seats available at various courses is enlisted as:

For admission at M.Sc./M. Biotechnology, the candidate must possess one of the following qualifications and have secured at least 60% marks for General/OBC candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the qualifying examination:

(a) MBBS/BDS (55% for Gen/OBC & 50% for SC/ST Categories)

(b) B.V.Sc.

(c) B. Pharmacy

(d) Bachelor of Physio-therapy (4.5 year course)

(e) B.Sc. degree of minimum three years’ duration in any subject.

Note: The admission requirements for M.Sc. Anatomy, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology,

Pharmacology and M. Biotechnology is the same as mentioned above, but the requirements for (i) Perfusion Technology (ii) Nuclear Medicine Technology, will be as mentioned below:

(i)Perfusion Technology -B.Sc. with Biology (Botany & or Zoology) OR B.Sc. in Perfusion Technology from a recognized University.

ii) Reproductive Biology and Clinical Embryology – B.Sc. degree in any of the discipline related to Biology or allied to Biology.

(iii) Nuclear Medicine Technology- B.Sc. degree courses in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized University.

The question paper for M.Sc./M. Biotechnology courses will be of 90 minutes duration consisting of 90 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 90 marks in the subject in which the candidates has applied.
AIIMS Delhi MD, MS, MCh & DMMD Admission 2017-18

AIIMS gives admission to various master’s courses like MD, MS, MCh and DM.

Selections for D.M./M.Ch/MD (Hospital Administration) courses are made through 2-Stage Performance Evaluation basis:

  • Stage I: Written test carrying 80 marks of 90 minutes duration in the subject the candidate has applied for. The question paper will consist of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Stage II: Out of the candidates who are 50th percentile or above in the written test (Stage-I), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks)

AIIMS Delhi PHD Admission ?2017-18

AIIMS provides admission to PHD programs. It conducts entrance exam and interview for admission process in three stages. There are total 43 seats for admission. A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

 1. (a) Medical qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/MCh in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.

(b) Nursing Qualification: Candidates holding M.Sc. degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Specialty will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.

 2. Non-Medical – For nonmedical candidate’s eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two years course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per requirement of the

Selection for Ph.D. registration will be through a three-stage performance evaluation as under:

 Stage I: 30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude related MCQs covering English (written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology etc.

Stage II: 40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject related theory based comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc. Entrance level.

 Total Marks: 70 (30+40) - Stage I & II

Total Duration: 90 Minutes - Stage I & II

Stage III: Out of the candidates who secured 50 percent or above in the written test (Stage-I & II plus the special weightage), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).
