Ans. IIT Bhubaneswar and DTU are both well-reputed institutes for engineering in India. Between the branches, COE offers more opportunities as compared to ECE. However, you should choose the institute based on the branch you are interested in.  IIT Bhubaneswar is considered among the top engineering colleges in India. NIRF has ranked IIT Bhubaneswar at 17th among the engineering colleges. Admission to the ECE program at the institute is done based on the performance of the student in JEE Advanced and the minimum eligibility criteria for admission is 75% aggregate in 10+2. The course fee is 2.14 lakhs (1st-year course fee). ECE is a new branch in IIT Bhubaneswar. The first batch of ECE graduated in 2020. Before 2016, electrical engineering was a combination of EEE and ECE. In 2020, 97% of the students from ECE got the placements in many top MNCs.The average CTC offered was INR 15.8 LPA. However, the highest domestic CTC offered was around INR 43.3 LPA. DTU is ranked 2nd and 34th as the best technological university as per TES and NIRF. The admission to the program is done on the basis of the performance of the student in JEE Mains. The course fee for COE at DTU is 1.66 lakhs (1st-year fee). Ans. Among the above three, CS at BITS Goa is the best institute to opt for. Agreeing with a few of my friends studying there, I can say that it provides better placements and wider industry exposure.  BITS Goa offers the best curriculum among the three, with no reservation, and offering flexible courses. Through the course, the faculty helps in all sorts of projects and thesis related works. Thought-provoking ideas are extremely encouraged. The table below states the basic comparison among the above three branches in the specified institutes -  Particulars CS at BITS Goa Maths and Computing at DTU CS at PEC Chandigarh Total Fees ?17.38 Lakh ?7.81 Lakh ?4.6 Lakh Admission Cut Off Score 352 (BITSAT) Rank 4412 (JEE Main) Rank 8313 (JEE Main) Placements (Winning Institute- BITS Goa) The placement training in BITS Goa is extremely essential and productive. Ans. Many students struggle with the college vs branch dilemma. You should choose the branch that you are more interested in. DTU is definitely a better college than MAIT. But you should make a choice depending on the course. In which field you will like to work for the rest of your life takes precedence over 4 years of college. The starting salary package of ECE at MAIT may not be lucrative. But you should definitely choose the option if you have an interest in ECE.  The table below can show a brief overview of the Universities. Particulars Biotechnology DTU ECE MAIT Average CTC 13 LPA  8 LPA Course Fee (1st year) 1.66 lakhs 1.1o lakhs Entrance Exam  JEE Mains/JEE Advance IPU CET Deciding Factors: People will advise you to opt for a reputed college. Since better college offers jobs with better salary packages. This is true to some extent. But one of the main aspects of jobs is job satisfaction. If you do not like what you are going to do for around 300 hours a month, it will take a toll on you. It is better to pick a line of work you like over a high paying job with the line of work you do not enjoy. To do that you have to give priority to the specialization over brand name. While starting out after finishing college, salary should not be your main concern. You should focus on honing your skills in your field. The first 3-5 years of your employment life should be about learning the most about your area of specialization. Since most of the institutes do not offer a curriculum that meets the needs of the industry.  You will have a lot of time to earn money, but you will not get the opportunity to learn and explore new things later in life. So, choose the branch you are passionate about.Read more

Ans. If you have an interest in Mathematics or you like to solve puzzles or play games like Sudoku, Chess, Minesweeper, then I think CSE will be good for you. You do not necessarily have to be good at these things, but if you are interested in any of these, there is a probability you will like CSE. Here is a brief comparison of the options mentioned in the question.  Particulars MAIT CSE  DTU BT/ENE/EP/PCT Average CTC 4-5 LPA 11.17 LPA Highest CTC 28 LPA 1.02 Crore Fees (1st year) 1.10 lakhs 1.6 lakhs Entrance Criteria  IPU-CET JEE  Deciding Factors: People may advise you to choose a branch in DTU and learn to code along with it. This will not be as easy as it sounds. It takes a lot of effort to learn to code. You also have to work hard in order to become good at it.  The final decision depends on your future goals and interests. If you do not have any inclination towards a branch, then you should decide what you want to do in the future.  If you want non-technical jobs, DTU is the better choice. The number of non-technical companies visiting DTU is greater than the number of companies visiting any IP colleges. Otherwise, if you want to go abroad CSE is the better choice.  So, make a choice depending on your current interests and future goals.Read more

Ans. For CS, DTU will be the better choice. Given below are the reasons for choosing DTU over the other institutes.  The table below can show a brief overview of the institutions: Particulars IIIT-D DTU NSIT DAIICT NIT IIIT-A Median Salary 16.97 LPA 11.17 LPA 18 LPA 10.16 LPA 11.58 LPA 13.25 LPA Fees 15 lakhs 1.66 lakhs 1.9 lakhs 1.97 lakhs 5.34 lakhs 5.34 lakhs Advantages - DTU: The coding culture at DTU is very developed. Students from all the branches, be it CS or Engineering Physics believes that Coding is the ultimate future of engineering. DCECoders is the Codechef made by DTU students. It is the best place to learn coding on campus.  IEEE, ASME, CSI, and IET to smaller organizations put effort into the coding competition. From time to time, you will have coding competitions and classes on the campus. DTU has over 50 societies that need good coders. Where you can apply your coding knowledge to real-time work. Bening situated in the capital of the country, DTU offers good exposure and opportunities. Delhi-NCR is a hub for IT companies, you may be able to get a job in NCR. The institute has a rich legacy of over 75 years. It boasts of a strong alumni network. It has a brand value similar to that of old IITs. The campus is ragging free and seniors are quite helpful. The 85% Delhi quota at the institute brings affluent crowds of Delhi to the campus. The placement process is managed by talented students of the institute. The placement at the institute is great. Even though it is an engineering college the non-technical placement rate of the institute is impressive.  Even if you realize after a few months of your course that engineering is not for you, you will still get to learn a lot from the campus culture.Read more

Ans. One of my friends is a student at DTU. He had the choice of taking admission in any of the courses at these colleges. Given below is a comparison of both these colleges. Particulars NSIT DTU Median Salary Rs. 18 LPA Rs 11.17 Lakhs Fees Rs 1.9 LPA Rs. 1.66 LPA Traveling Distance: If you are not opting for a PG or hostel, you should consider the distance of the institutes from your home. Choose the institute closer to your home. Otherwise, you will lose 2-3 hours in commute, daily. You will almost waste 1500 in the 4-year duration. The total time you invested in preparing for JEE may be less than that. Peer-group: (DTU~NSIT) The quality of the peer-group at both NSIT and DTU are almost similar. You will have the brightest mind of the country as your peer at both institutes. You can hear people say that the cutoff for COE at NSIT is better than DTU. This is only normal as NSIT has a much smaller batch size as compared to DTU.  As of 2020 statistics, NSIT is preferred for CO, CSAI. Whereas, DTU is unparalleled for ECE & Mech. Students from outside of Delhi tend to prefer DTU. It is also observed that reserved category students prefer DTU more. Curriculum: (DTU~NSIT) At NSIT and DTU, students can choose electives from the first-year.  The syllabus has recently been revised in both organizations; both the institutes implement the CGPA framework.  DTU follows a relative grading system. DTU also allows for taking online courses (MOOCs). Faculty: (NSIT>DTU) NSIT may have slightly better faculty. However, at both the colleges, you will learn more through peer-learning than from faculty. Placement: (DTU>NSIT)  For software job profiles NSIT is better. Whereas, DTU is better for core and non-tech job profiles.  Many may say DTU has a disadvantage of larger batch size which results in bad placement. This is not the case, in fact, the competition keeps you motivated to deal well. The median salary at DTU is 11.17 LPA. For average students, DTU offers better placement. NSIT may offer one or two better placement offers if you belong to the top of your class. College Life: (DTU>>NSIT) College life at DTU is much better than NSIT.  The rules and regulations at NSIT are very strict. There are records of freshers’ welcome being canceled and fests organized at the last minute at NSIT. DTU administration has a more chilled approach. It conducts 5 or more fests every year.  Recently DTU started an attendance app and students need to maintain at least 50% attendance. Coding Culture: (DTU~NSIT) Coding culture at both the institutes is on par. Since you can learn everything about coding from the internet. In the past, NSIT students showed brilliance in coding competitions like Coding Blocks, Ninjas. However, the GSoC section was better at DTU. Hostel: (NSIT>DTU) If you want a good hostel life then NSIT is better. Laboratories: (DTU>NSIT) For Mechanical and Electronics laboratory facilities at DTU is better. Currently, the ECE department at DTU is involved in some of the state-of-the-art works. To your next-door neighbor, DCE (DTU Delhi) is more recognizable. In the tech-industry NSIT and DTU, both are equally reputed. DTU campus has better utilization of space and it is quite beautiful. However, at both campuses construction work is going on currently. DTU has wonderful facilities for all sports like football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, Kabaddi, etc.Read more

DTU being one of the finest institutes for engineering provides the greatest exposure one could ask for. Apart from academics, students get ample time to explore new stuff resulting in the development of all-around personality. Moreover, there is a society/club for every activity more than what anyone could even think of. Now, coming to academics DTU provides its students the flexibility to choose their own subjects from the very first year. So a student in a core branch-like electrical, mechanical or chemical can also take coding subjects as well according to his/her preference. The placement stats of DTU have been phenomenal in the past as evidenced by the fact that it has surpassed IIT ...

College is good and provides a lot of exposure. It is not just focussed on technical things but as well as on management and non-technical stuff. In DTU, people can find a person to guide in their field of interest. The admission process is very simple just have to go through JEE Main exam and get rank as per their reservation cutoffs. Generally, rounds for admission takes place in July and classes start from August. Due to location, I preferred. Delhi provides good exposure and also college is established and known. I used CollegePravesh website for getting to know rankings and different stuff during admission.

The study environment is easy and there is no too much pressure. One has ample time to pursue their hobbies and interests. Batchmates and faculty are smart and cooperative at all times. The college also enjoys a strong brand image among recruiters and foreign universities owing to the DCE tag. Some bad things include the poor canteen food and sports complex not being adequately equipped. Placements are strong and are better than any NIT.

DTU is a brand and who didn't want to get admission to this college The exposure, societies, tech teams, fests, cultural events, and lot more things happen in DTU. From other countries like South Sudan, Nepal, Nigeria, etc students have been admitted to our college. The infrastructure in our college and its campus is the center of attraction. It's made up an area of around 172 acres. Not in just academics DTU will provide you an opportunity in every field from acting, singing, dancing, coding, entrepreneur, etc. Every sport is being played in our college and our students from DTU participate in every sports completion and bring a medal for our college. DTU is a Delhi government college and also an Institution of National Importance. Its location was the major factor for which I've choosen this college for my next 4 years journey. Since Delhi is a metro city, it will provide a lot of exposure to me for my internship opportunities. Also, the sports facilities and the working of societies was also the key factor in choosing this college. I've also gone through many YouTube channels like Yash Geez who himself is a DTU Chemical engineering student and has reviewed DTU college. Also, collegedunia has also helped me in getting to a final decision.

It has a good reputation and it also gets under the top 10's list of many great achievements. Admission is done through entrance exam JEE Main and different cut-offs for different branches are there. This college is great for getting placements and experiencing good college life. I reviewed many colleges and then decided to take admission in DTU because I thought it'll help me in my growth and skills.

I did my schooling in Delhi that's why I want a college which is in Delhi and I think DTU is the best option for me. As I was getting Mechanical Engineering in this college in the councelling process and I know that Dtu has the best mechanical department and lab in the whole of Delhi. The placement stats of this stream is also really good as this is a tier 1 college. Also, I got to know that this college is not only good in academics but also in other activities like fest, sports, dance and many others that's why I choose this college over any other college. And also this is near my home and that's a plus point for choosing this college. I got admission through my jee main score held in Apr...
