The MA Psychology course offered by IGNOU is a credit-based course. The first-year course work consists of 6 regular examinations having 4 credits each, where practicals are conducted for 8 Credits.
Each Group of Second year course work i.e Group A(Clinical Psychology), Group B(Counseling Psychology), Group C(Industrial and Organizational Psychology) are also conducted for a total of 32 credits each where Practicals are marked against 6 credits, 8 credits for fieldwork and 6 credits for Project work. All other exams are conducted against 4 credits.

IGNOU students pursuing MA Psychology course should complete one Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA) once a year. The TMA is usually assigned in the month of March and a completed assignment should be submitted in the month of September.
Submitting the assignment within the stipulated time is mandatory in order to appear for mid term examination. The completed assignment should be sent to the Coordinator / Programme In-charge of the Study Centre/ Programme Study Centre allotted to the respective candidate.
