Ans. NITIE Mumbai is one of the highly desired institutions in the country. It is funded by MHRD and has a legacy of over 50 years. The institution has a great number of alumni employed at diverse positions in supply chain roles. It will not be right to exactly know the positions of these alumni but they all play an integral role and deliver quality services to the customers. It is ranked 8th among top government B-school in India by The Week Rankings 2019 and it is considered to be in the same league with IIMS, IITs, and IISc. Campus Life at NITIE Students are exposed to a good amount of academic, extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities. They are also prepared for the upcoming summer and final placement process. The crowd at the institute is a mixture of fresh and experienced students who have worked for 3 years or more. Students are highly ambitious and come from various backgrounds. A thorough selection process is followed and capable students are enrolled. One drawback that should be highlighted is that M.Tech is treated equally to the MBA during placements. Due to this, a student from PGDIE will be competing with 400-500 students instead of 100. Placement Facts The communication skills of the student fraternity is not good at NITIE and this can affect during placements. Students from IITs with an excellent academic record and having work experience are preferred more by the companies. If you want to be in a managerial post then it is better to join NITIE than IIT. Whether you should join NITIE or IIT depends on your choice of career. If you want a career in management then you should choose NITIE Mumbai PGDIE over IIT. However, if you want to work in the Engineering industry then choose IIT. Read more

Ans. First of all it is important to note that Data Science is not at all a lengthy topic to study. The completion of the course is six months. In this period of time, you will learn sufficient skills required and become industry ready. These skills are acquired during training. After completion, you can develop and enhance your skills as a Data Scientist. If you want to do a data Science course from IIT Delhi, then you should opt for a research group Data Analytics & Intelligence Research (DAIR). It focuses on integrating the various domains of Data Sciences in order to build intelligent software systems with the help of Machine Learning, Data Management and Data Mining. Ans. If we look at the placement stats of both IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee for Civil, the packages are not very high in comparison with other branches such as Computer science. The average package offered at both places for Civil is around INR 4-5 LPA. The department of civil engineering at IIT Delhi is known as the “Chillest branch”. You can score around 7 CGPA just by studying one week before the exams. However, you might not be getting a good place on campus placements, the companies may just reject the application form. This is one of the main reasons why the placements in IIT Delhi for Civil branch is so low. Students are left for other options such as MBA or IAS/IES. The professors are good enough and liberal in the Civil department. Categories IIT Delhi IIT Roorkee Course Fee 8.47 lakh 10.50 lakh Placement Percentage 60-70% 60% Highest CTC 42 LPA 32 LPA Average CTC 10 LPA 13 LPA Lowest CTC 5 LPA 6 LPA Students choosing IIT Delhi over IIT Roorkee may be controversial for some but it is an honest suggestion. The environment is very impressive at IIT Delhi for studies as well as Personality Development. But both of these require hard work and dedication from your side. The quality of education is better in IIT Delhi as they have great labs and ample equipment for research. As long as you continue the hard work, you will be able to grow and prosper in life. You will receive wonderful opportunities for growing knowledge, wealth and an absolute environment for yourself.Read more
Ans. If looked at the reality, many students from Textile remain jobless. Job opportunities increase after having a good work experience. The increase in the work package increases depending on the discipline of specialization and work experience. You should appear for campus placement drive and interviews. There are some of the very reputed companies that visit the campus of IIT Delhi for the recruitment of students from the Textile department. Do not worry about the initial packages offered. Categories IIT Delhi (Textile) Course Fee 8.47 lakh Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 40-50 LPA Average CTC 12-14 LPA Lowest CTC 6 LPA As in the initial 2 years of work, you may get dissatisfaction upon some facts such as Non-IITian colleagues working in the same company and drawing the same salary package. But things will start to change for good after the applicant will get 2-3 years of work experience. Besides, the applicant can also try for an MBA. It will surely help in building up in the field. Engineering curriculum in India is very old and therefore Engineering in textile has not produced any skilled employment opportunity till now. Therefore, not many engineering colleges in India offer programmes in Textile.Read more
Ans. There are very few opportunities in the field of Textile Engineering. The main reason is the restriction on future jobs and opportunities. The number of industries hiring Textile Engineers is at most 1 or 2. Studying textile engineering for four years can be quite difficult if you are not truly interested in the branch. So, do not go for it, just for the IIT tag that comes along with it. The interviewer hires students based on their skills and not for the college. Future Prospect: (CS>Textile) If we look upon the future aspect for example IIM Admissions, the Interviewers at Personal Interview session judges the proficiency in the subject chosen by the students in their graduation. The curriculum of textile engineering includes some of the difficult topics such as the strength of fibers. You will need to work hard to be proficient in these subjects. Even for MS Admissions in the USA, there are very few colleges and courses available for Textile. The job prospect is also limited after the completion of such courses. If we compare CS with Textile, it is seen that Computer science is one of the growing industries in India as well as abroad and it is getting diverse day by day. Technology has entered our day to day life, from robots to self-driven cars, the extent of computer science is getting colossal. Placements: (CS>Textile) The average placement stats of both the colleges do not have much difference but if you choose CS, then there are more chances and opportunities for you in the coming future. The table below shows the recent placement statistics for CS at DTU and Textile at IIT Delhi. Category DTU IIT Delhi Average CTC 12.08 LPA 12 LPA Highest CTC 1.07 Crore 45 LPA DTU is a good college. Students choose DTU after some of the top IITs. So, you can definitely go for DTU.Read more
