Ans. Placements at IIT Delhi are good. However, circumstances are a bit different for Chemical Engineering. Depending upon the views of students, CE BTech students of IIT Delhi have four options: Non-core placement in big MNCs. Prepare for higher studies such as Mtech and Ph.D. Many PSUs also acquire CE BTech graduates through the GATE examination. Government examinations for Administrative jobs. If you are passionate about Chemical Engineering and want to pursue a career in the core-sector maintain a decent CGPA, above 8.7, and go abroad for a PhD or as a Ph.D. intern in the top 30 colleges in the world.  Even though Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi is the best in our country but there aren’t many placement opportunities for core placement in the field of Chemical Engineering. There is not much pressure from the department so you get ample time to prepare for administrative jobs or improve your coding skills and other skills required for non-core jobs. There are various non-sectors such as software, finance, analytics, etc., where CE students can get placements. In 2019 the average placement package offered at IIT Delhi was 16 LPA.  Read more

Ans. According to the NIRF Rankings, IIT Delhi is placed at #2 among the engineering colleges in the country. The mechanical engineering degree at IIT Delhi is one of the esteemed in the country. Mechanical Engineering students of IIT Delhi get placement in both core and non-core sectors. For core mechanical engineering job profiles the average CTC offered is around 7-8 LPA. However, the overall average CTC for mechanical engineering is sound 10 LPA. This is because a lot of students of mechanical engineering opt for non-core job profiles in coding, data analysis, consultancy, etc. that pay more than an average core sector job. Also, the number of core sector recruiters are less than that of non-core. Some of the leading recruiters for the mechanical engineering branch are Microsoft, Bosch, Mercedes Benz, Honda, TATA, Bajaj, and Mahindra.   Read more

Old IITs: IIT has the best facilities, infrastructure and faculty for engineering in comparison to other institutes or universities. All the necessary facilities like highly equipped labs, good hostel facilities, all are available. IITs are the best for engineering rather any other Institute for engineering in Whole India. But if we talk about the admission or eligibility then definitely it is not that easy to get selected for IIT. Ans. Both ICT, Mumbai, and IITs are well-known colleges in India and offer quality education. ICT Mumbai is mostly recognized for chemical engineering courses only. Whereas, IIT’s are recognized for computers, electronics, civil, mechanical, and other engineering branches even. However, one should decide the best college based on the brand. So, here are a few quick highlights of MTech in Chemical at IITs and ICT Mumbai. IIT: Admissions: IITs accept graduates and GATE qualified members. Also, it conducts a personal interview and intakes only those students who qualify for the interview. The candidates should get a minimum of 60% in their graduation in order to be eligible for admission. M.Tech Chemical engineering is a complete 2-years course. The total fee for the course is 1.32 lakhs. Placements: The median salary of M.Tech Chemical Engineering students is 20.8 LPA. Top companies visiting the popular IIT campuses for Chemical Engineering students are Texas Instrument, Carin, Morgan Stanley, Apple, Microsoft, ITC, Schlumberger, IBM, McKinsey & Company, Deutsche Bank, Tata Steel, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd, and many more. ICT Mumbai: Admissions: The college accepts students based on academic excellence in graduation and ranking obtained in the GATE. The candidates should get at least 60% in their graduation from any recognized university in order to be eligible for admission. The total fee for this course is 1.53 lakhs. The course has a total of 30 seats. Placements: Over 90% of the students are placed each year. The campus has a 100% placement rate in chemical engineering. The highest and average salary packages of the students are 14 LPA and 3.5 LPA respectively. Most frequently visited companies are CitiBank India, Morgan Stanley, Belong Technologies, Goldman Sachs, Asian Paints, BASF India, Cipla, DSM Soft, Exxon, Black & Veatch, Deutsche Bank, HoneyWell, Capgemini, Sprinklr, Walmart Labs, Genpact, Deloitte, Tesco, and many more. This is one of the elite institute of India with good placements and great opportunities. The competition among the students keep the brain active for further preperations of placement or other exams which a student maybe willing to give.

I like electronics and hardware, so i chose electrical engineering. I always wanted to study engineering and get into IIT since i was in 9th grade. The diversity of courses, campus itself, seniors are very helpful and so are the professors, and the level of exposure are some things i like about my college.

The fees is slightly on the higher side and you may have to spend around Rs. 2.4 lakhs per annum. Scholarship is available based on merit. The Institute provides a lot of flexibility in building your degree.

Getting into IIT was a dream for me, since I joined fiitjee. I took coaching for 2 years during my 12th. I had to study both for boards and entrance. But the coaching I was getting was very good. That's why I could make it into the IIT's.

In boys hostle some of the students get the opportunity to live in single rooms from first year onwards however with increase in batch strength this may change. Labs are very good if you actually study. Grading system is hard. If you dont study you will definitely get a Fail/Backlog in that subject.

Hi Satish, As per NID (National Institute of Design), there is eligibility criteria in which candidates from general category should have maximum 30 years and from reserved category should have 33 years. However there are institutes like NIFT who have no age limit for admission so you can check that.
