Jamia Millia Islamia Admission 2027 is done through one online form on admission.jmi.ac.in. For most UG and PG programmes, JMI conducts its own entrance test in 11 cities, and the merit list is based on that test. B.Tech admission is based on your JEE Main rank, and B.Arch admission is based on NATA. BDS seats are filled through NEET UG and MCC counselling. A few language and science programmes use CUET UG or CUET PG scores. The form fee is INR 700 or INR 1,000, based on the faculty. Last year, forms opened on 20 Feb 2026, and the last date was extended to 10 Apr 2026. The 2027 dates are expected to follow the same pattern.
Jamia Millia Islamia B.Tech Admission 2027
B.Tech at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology has 660 seats in ten branches. Half the seats are regular seats with a yearly fee of INR 19,525. The other half are self-financed seats with a yearly fee of INR 1.53 Lakhs. JMI does not hold a test for B.Tech. It makes the merit list from your JEE Main final rank and its seat quota rules.
Jamia Millia Islamia B.Tech Eligibility 2027
You need Physics, Chemistry and Maths in Class 12, with at least 55% marks in these three subjects. A three or four year engineering diploma with 55% marks is also accepted. You must take JEE Main 2027 and enter its application number in the JMI form. Your branch depends on your JEE rank and the branch order you fill in the form.

Jamia Millia Islamia B.Tech Admission Process 2027
First, register for JEE Main 2027 with NTA and take the exam. Then fill the JMI B.Tech form and pay INR 1,000. The form stays open until 10 days after the JEE Main result. JMI then puts up selection lists by JEE rank on admission.jmi.ac.in. If your name is on a list, you report with your documents and pay the fee on the given days.

Jamia Millia Islamia BA (Hons) Admission 2027
BA (Hons) has 22 subjects and 974 seats in the Faculty of Humanities and Languages and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Most subjects use the JMI entrance test. Hindi, Urdu, Turkish, French, Spanish and Korean use your CUET UG score instead. The yearly fee is INR 10,175 for most subjects. Self-financed subjects like German and Japanese cost INR 20,675 a year.
Jamia Millia Islamia BA (Hons) Eligibility 2027
You need at least 50% in your best five Class 12 subjects, or 50% in the subject you want to study. For Islamic Studies, Persian, Urdu and Sanskrit, 45% is enough. For Arabic, you need Arabic in Class 12 or a madrasa certificate that JMI accepts. Social Work and Human Resource Management are taught only in English.

BA LLB (Hons) at the Faculty of Law is a five year course with 120 seats. Sixty seats are regular and sixty are self-financed. Admission is based on the JMI law entrance test, followed by an interview. JMI does not use CLAT for this course.

MBA admission at the Department of Management Studies is based on the JMI entrance test, not CAT. The MBA has 60 seats, and its yearly fee is INR 26,875. The same test also covers MBA (International Business) and MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship). The Executive, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical MBA courses have their own tests.

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.
Is there negative marking in JMI's own entrance tests?▾
Yes. Each wrong answer in a multiple choice question cuts 0.25 marks. If you are only guessing, it is safer to leave that question blank.
Do I need a minimum score in the written part of a test?▾
Yes. If a test has a descriptive part, you must score at least 30% in it. Below that, you are not shortlisted, even if your total looks good.
Can I ask JMI to recheck my test answer sheet?▾
No. JMI does not recheck or re-evaluate entrance test papers. You can only challenge the answer key within 48 hours, and each challenge costs INR 200 per question.
Will I get a copy of my OMR sheet after the test?▾
Yes. You get a carbon copy of your OMR sheet. Keep it safe, so you can match your answers with the key when it comes out.
Which cities have JMI test centres?▾
You can choose Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, Bhopal, Jaipur, Dehradun or Kishanganj. Some tests are held only in Delhi, so check your programme first.
Can I change my test city after the form closes?▾
No. Your city cannot be changed later. Delhi is your default second choice if too few students pick your city, so plan your travel for that.
How do the Muslim seat quotas work at JMI?▾
JMI keeps 30% of seats for Muslims, 10% for Muslim women and 10% for Muslim OBC and ST students. Seats left in the two 10% groups move to the 30% group. You need the right certificate to claim any of them.
Which OBC certificate does JMI accept?▾
JMI asks for a Muslim OBC certificate in the central list format, for the non creamy layer. Get a recent one from the competent authority before your admission day.
Is there a seat quota for students from Jamia schools?▾
Yes. 5% of UG and diploma seats go to students who passed Class 10 or 12 as regular students of Jamia schools. Keep your Jamia school marksheet ready as proof.
Is there a quota for students with a disability?▾
Yes. 5% of seats are for students with 40% or more disability, and you also get 5% relaxation in marks. Bring your UDID card to admission.
Does NCC or NSS help in JMI admission?▾
NCC gives you 5% relaxation in marks and NSS gives 2%. This does not apply in Architecture, Engineering, Dentistry or Physiotherapy, so check your programme.
I am from Jammu and Kashmir. Are there extra seats for me?▾
Yes. JMI adds up to 2 seats in a programme for Jammu and Kashmir students, and Kashmiri migrants get up to 5% extra seats. You need a domicile or migrant certificate to claim them.
Will JMI give me a hostel room?▾
A room is not promised. JMI says only 30% of its students get one, and rooms go by merit points, distance from home, income and an interview. Keep a backup place where you can stay in Delhi.
How much did a JMI girls' hostel cost last year?▾
The 2026-27 girls' hostel manual charged INR 16,900 a year for a new room, with INR 3,000 caution money inside it. Mess was INR 3,000 a month, paid in three parts. Expect the figure you pay to change a little each year.
When did boys' hostel forms open last year?▾
Forms for boys' halls were open on mj.jmi.ac.in from 20 Jul to 8 Aug 2026, after one extension. You also gave a hard copy with INR 200 in cash at the Provost office.
