Ans. Among the two, Mechanical at PEC Chandigarh would be a better choice. PEC being an old and highly recognized institute whereas NIT Delhi is comparatively a newer establishment. Placement (Winning Institute- PEC Chandigarh) PEC has a progressive atmosphere for core branches like mechanical. The faculties help in placement training and creative experimental works. The top recruiting companies include Alstom, Volvo, Fiat, L&T, Indian Oil, etc. Although ECE is a stream of greater demand as both core Electronics and IT companies recruit ECE graduates. NIT Delhi, being a recently established institute has a lower average CTC offered to its students than Mechanical at PEC Chandigarh. The table below states the basic overview of the required departments from the two institutes. Particulars Mechanical at PEC Chandigarh Electronics and Communication at NIT Delhi NIRF ’20 Rank 68 251-300 Total Fees ?4.16 Lakh ?6.05 Lakh Median Salary ?7 Lakh per annum ?6.05 Lakh per annum JEE Main Cut off 33005 14795 Total Seats 110 60 Opportunities After completing Mechanical at PEC, students can opt for a Masters in Design which serves a purpose of Architectural discipline and great demand. Campus PEC Chandigarh has a better campus and infrastructure than NIT Delhi. Co-curricular activities like fests, sports, events, etc. take place on a larger scale in PEC Chandigarh, being a more popular institute. The comparison between Electronics and Communication at NIT Delhi and Mechanical at PEC Chandigarh is entirely dependent on what the candidate wants, both being completely different streams. But PEC still stands a step ahead, being a more reputed institution.Read more

Ans. ECE at NIT Delhi is not good. If you want to stay in Delhi then IIIT Delhi is a better alternative. Also, you can easily apply for CSE at other NITs or apply for other colleges such as PEC, IIIT, YMCA, etc. The table below gives an overview of ECE at NIT Delhi and Mechanical at DTU. Category NIT Delhi DTU Average CTC 7.5 LPA 8-9 LPA Course Fee 3.21 lakhs 7.81 lakhs Infrastructure: Since NIT Delhi has been recently established, it does not have its own campus. There are limited facilities available for students.  The hostels are not good and have connectivity issues. They are located very far from the main campus.  The facilities offered are incomparable with other colleges. Placements: As NIT Delhi is a newly established institution, the placements offered are also not very enduring as compared to NITs and other colleges such as PEC Chandigarh or IIIT Delhi.  IIIT Delhi has better placements than NIT Delhi as they have more experienced departments. Coding Culture: The coding environment at NIT Delhi, in comparison with other colleges, is also not good.  IIIT Delhi has better facilities for coding environment than in NIT Delhi. Class Schedule: The class schedule is quite hectic. Students have to attend classes from 9:30 to 5:30 with a break of just an hour.  Students waste a lot of time traveling as the hostels are located very far from college. Faculty: The faculty at NIT Delhi are not very skilled and they have less experience if compared with faculties of IIIT Delhi.  If you like CS and want to explore plenty of opportunities then you should apply at IIIT Delhi or other NITs. ECE at NIT Delhi is more substandard than CSE at NIT Delhi. Between the choices given, DTU Mechanical is a better option than ECE at NIT Delhi.Read more

Ans. All of these three universities offer numerous opportunities for students interested in computer science engineering. IITs are one of the premier institutions in the country for engineering, whereas IIIT Hyderabad was ranked at 6 by Outlook in India 2020 and 43 for its B.Tech course by NIRF in India 2020. NITs are of national importance and many NITs offer great CSE programs. Below is a comparison of the necessary factors to aid in the selection of Computer Science Engineering between these institutions. Particulars IIT IIIT Hyderabad NIT Entrance Criteria 10+2 with 75% & JEE Main and Advanced 10+2 with 60% & JEE Main 10+2 with 75% & JEE Main Median Salary INR 12,00,000 INR 20,00,000 INR 9,01,000 The course fees for BTech CSE at IIIT Hyderabad is INR 11.20 lakhs. Admission Criteria: IIT – For admission in B.Tech (computer science engineering), students need a minimum of 75% aggregate score in their 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects. The said criteria are 65% for SC/ST students. Admission is granted based on 10+2 results and JEE Main and Advanced exam results. IIIT Hyderabad – Students require a minimum of 60% with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 examinations. Also, the students need to undertake the JEE Main exams, on the basis of which admissions are given. NIT - Along with a 75% score in the results of 10+2 examinations (with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects) students need to undertake the JEE Main examinations, on the basis of which admissions are granted. Campus Placement: IIT – Many top recruiting giants such as Microsoft, Richtek, Denso, D.E. Shaw, Amazon, Barclays, etc. visited the campus for placements. The highest package offered in the recent placements was INR 60.41 LPA. IIIT Hyderabad – In the recent placements, IIIT Hyderabad had a placement rate of 97% and the highest package offered was INR 46.26 LPA. NIT – The placement rate in the recent campus placements was 80% and the highest package offered was INR 43.33 LPA. All these universities have good opportunities for CSE, however, all the factors relevant in an individual case need to be analyzed before selecting in between these universities.Read more

Ans. NITs ranks after IITs in India and thus have great relevance in terms of both academics as well as placement. Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology has been positioned under the rank band of 151-200 among 906 engineering institutions across the country which also includes all IITs/IIITs/NITs. Admissions: NIT Delhi: B.Tech admission in NIT Delhi (CSE)is based on the merit scored in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. After declaring the entry exam results, the students can log in to the JoSAA website to apply for the counselling process. Last year, for the general category the cut off of JEE Main was opened at 3287 and closed at 6362. MSIT: The admissions in MSIT (CSE) will only be based on the student's merit at JEE Mains Paper. By applying for an IPU CET Exam, B.Sc graduates may receive a lateral entry into B.Tech programmes. The tuition fee for NIT Delhi CSE is INR 5.16 lakhs for 4 years. The total fees in MAIT CSE for a span of 4 years is 4.47 lakhs. Placements: MSIT: Maharaja Agrasen Technology Institute has a separate training and positioning cell. Some of the top companies that recruit applicant from CSE in MAIT are Accenture, LIBSYS, Infosys, Sapient, TCS, Deloitte, Hughes Systique, Cognizant, Tata Power DDL, Amazon, TASL, Samsung, ION Trading, Wipro, Deloitte, Newgen etc. The average CTC offered to the students of MSIT was 6 LPA. NIT Delhi: With a record of 95%, a total of 40 companies took part, and 150 job offers were made as the release of the placement records of 2019 in NIT Delhi reveals. The highest offered salary package was Rs 32 LPA, and the average salary package offered was Rs 7 LPA. Top recruitment companies that have visited the campus are Future First, Samsung, Mac Software, Paytm, Reliance, Akash Institute, Mu Sigma, Oracle FSS, PWC, Infosys and Wipro and they majorly recruit candidates who opt CSE. CSE offered by both the colleges stands high in some of the other parameters, so it's entirely up to the applicant to which college to take admission in.Read more

I chose this college mainly because it is in Delhi and I was interested in learning skills apart from the college's curriculum. The college is quite decent, except the campus. The campus is not very lavish but has all the facilities, we have an okay canteen, football ground etc. Also, Because of the less number of people in every batch, it is easier for us to get the chance to participate in various contests and fests. The admission process is quite simple, it is through Josaa counseling. The portal opens after JEE advanced exam and we need to put colleges in order of how much we want them. While selecting, I read reviews from Quora, college unit, etc and I felt that it is good as long a...

The location and the branch computer science. Also, new campus is being made which will provide more opportunities.Due to the location, more companies come to the college for placement. Also, computer science is one of the most in demand branches and the placement is also good here.Sports and fitness is taken good care of.Due to less students, there is more interaction between seniors and juniors.

The average placement and the highest package also attracted a lot. Quality education and an edge because it is situated in Delhi are also some of the factors.

The college is good for placements but the campus life and the events are not that much good and the fees is also very much expensive when compared to other NITs. It depends on the student on how he gets adapted to the college environment.
