Ans. The point which needs to be addressed at first is that Delhi School of Economics doesn't provide any BA Economics course as of now. Though, many of the other colleges under Delhi University offer this course. The admission procedure starts with the evaluation of the performance in 12th standard boards. Both BA Economics and Bachelors in Business Economics (BBE) indeed provide great career opportunities. Though, few factors need to be considered before making a choice. Here are some of the factors mentioned below. Firstly, the question arises in the mind is about the enjoyment one gets while practicing maths. If the answer is no, then it is highly recommended to go for BBE as BA Economics includes a lot of maths. Secondly, it is regarding the interest in learning about the working of economy or functioning of a business. Students keen to learn about the working of economy should opt for BA Economics while students interested to know about the functioning of business may opt for BBE. Then it is about the future aspirations. If you are interested in research, teaching, and academics then opt for BA Economics. Though, both BBE and BA Economics are suitable options for those who are heading towards the corporate sector. Finally it is your decision to shape the future. You need to be certain about your future goals. If you are opting to pursue MBA, you can go for any of the two courses available. Though, students who are willing to pursue MA in economics, should definitely pursue BA Economics without any doubts.Read more

Ans. Delhi School of Economics is a highly sought after college for MA in Economics which is affiliated to DU. However, DSE is not the only college under DU that offers a MA in Economics. There are few other colleges like St. Stephen College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu College, Hans Raj College, etc that also offer MA programs in Economics.  The entrance exam for the program at DSE is the same as the rest which is conducted by DU. Candidates get selected to DSE or other DU colleges based on the merit list formed by DU.  However, the career prospect and placement opportunities at DSE is better than the rest. The placement rate of DSE is around 80-90% each year and the average CTC range between 6-10 LPA.Read more

Ans. Choosing a college between these two is a very tough choice. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is one of the most reputed and established colleges in India and securing a seat here is a tedious task.  On the other hand, Ashoka University is one of the best upcoming universities in India, and it recently gained popularity. Studying here and learning from my batchmates at SRCC, I can elaborate on why one is better than the other. In order to select a college between the two, you can refer to the facts I have suggested below -  Faculty (Ashoka>SRCC) Ashoka University has a better faculty among the two colleges. The university gains an upper edge due to the presence of their reputed teachers. They are very helpful and cooperative. Many notable teachers comprise the faculty of Ashoka University. Detailed information about them are provided on the college website.  While on the other hand, many students of not only SRCC but also in DU are not satisfied with their faculty members and their quality of teaching. Academic Learning and Exposure (Ashoka>SRCC) In SRCC, most of the students keep themselves busy with clubs and societies. Attendance is not taken seriously. Students are known to have 0-5% attendance. DU is seen as the pillar of learning while the reality, you do not learn anything real. Students have mentioned that only mugging answers during exams gets the job done. Students of Ashoka on the other hand, are eager to learn and understand about any topic. This difference in learning depends on the faculty and their engagement towards their students. Reputation (SRCC>Ashoka) SRCC has a better reputation as a college across the country. There are very limited people who haven’t heard about SRCC. This popularity among students and teachers helps in the placement process. Categories Ashoka University SRCC Course Fees 21.35 lakh 45,000 Placement Percentage 80-100% 90% Highest CTC 23 LPA 15 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA 6 LPA Campus Life (SRCC>Ashoka) Being in the capital city SRCC is easily accessible to all. The required facilities are readily available, making their campus life easier and better. Frequent fests also take place in DU.  On the other hand, The campus life at Ashoka University is also good. They have Ashoka Premier League and Banjaara. But the campus is situated in an isolated place in Sonepat, making it less accessible. Hostel and General Facilities (Ashoka>SRCC) Hostel and other facilities provided by Ashoka university is excellent and is better than many private and government colleges in India. Thus, in this criteria Ashoka University triumphs. Ashoka University pushes students to focus on learning. Most of the subjects taught need cognitive abilities. The university collaborates with other universities, organizing competitions, seminars, industry visits, etc. providing better exposure. Research Projects (Ashoka>SRCC) The research projects play an important role in the selection of a college, as the degree provided by them, sets on the research project.  In Ashoka, the research opportunities are excellent and the projects are very flexible. Ashoka University has an upper edge in almost all of the criteria that are mentioned above. If you have to choose a college between them you can opt for Ashoka for its better faculty, facilities, research, exposure, and other criteria.Read more

Ans. This particular question is hard to approach because both Delhi University and Calcutta University are well-known educational giants in India. Delhi University when compared to Calcutta University is more famous. It offers more courses than Calcutta University. It is easily accessible to students coming from different parts of India because of its geographical location  Crowd: The university comprises students coming from different backgrounds in terms of economic, social, and cultural terms. This makes the university culturally diverse and gives students vast exposure.  Courses: The courses offered by the Delhi University consist of three streams i.e. science, commerce, and arts. Further, there are seats reserved for CCA.  Fests: The annual fests conducted by the university are another reason for gaining popularity.  To top it all, DU encompasses some of the best-ranked colleges in India we all know about and it definitely holds its stand. Calcutta University is as old as Delhi University, therefore, making it into the conversation. It is preferable for higher education as the teachers are very well qualified and have international connections. One can opt for Calcutta University for certain subjects like History, archaeology, Political Science, English, etc. In conclusion, if one has to do an undergraduate course they can choose Delhi University over any other University for an exposure of a lifetime. One can migrate to respective states depending on the course one chooses to study for higher studies. Read more

Ans. IGNOU and DU, both are one of the best institutes available in India. The quality of education provided by both universities is on par. IGNOU provides both regular as well as distance courses as per the convenience of the aspirant. Thus after properly evaluating both the institutes, the candidate must consider the appropriate institute for their education. Courses Offered: IGNOU: It is among the very few institutes which offer almost all the courses. There are almost 228 degrees, diploma, certificate, and doctoral courses that students can choose from. Some of the popular courses at IGNOU are BSc, BA, BBA, BE/BTech, MSc, MA, MPhil, etc. DU: DU offers Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Certificate, UG, PG, MPhil, Ph.D. in various disciplines. Admissions: If we talk about admission, both the universities follow almost the same pattern i.e. either through merit or via entrance exams held by them. For IGNOU, the minimum eligibility criteria are 55% in 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board. For DU, the minimum eligibility criteria are 60% or more in 10 + 2 or equivalent from any recognized board. Along with this, the candidate has to appear for the DU entrance tests. Placements: IGNOU: IGNOU has a Campus Placement Cell (CPC), which works as an interface between the students and the industries. Around the academic year, the CPC organizes various job fairs and campus placements, and pre-placement training in its headquarters, study centers, regional centers. Students of IGNOU get employed in companies like Aegis, Axis Bank, Frankfinn, ICICI Prudential. DU: In DU, approximately 60 to 70% of students get placed. While the highest package is provided, there is 37 LPA, and the average package is 6-7 LPA. Some of the major recruiters at DU are ABP News, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Amazon, Indigo Airlines, British Telecom, etc. Both IGNOU and DU are reputed universities in our country, but DU being the regular education provider, has a better hand over IGNOU. Even in terms of overall placements and brand value, DU can be considered better as compared to IGNOU. So, it all depends on your proximity as well as the mode of education you want.Read more

Ans. Delhi University is one of the most reputed Indian universities, which is UGC approved and has ranked 5th for Law in India by The Week 2020. Whereas, Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad is a private institute and a constituent of Symbiosis International University. The institute has NAAC accreditation with an ‘A’ grade. Both the universities are reputed and have been constantly working towards making the students experience better in terms of education, college life, and placement. Here are some of the factors that will guide you further in choosing between these two institutes. Admission: DU conducts the LLB entrance test and those who want to get into Symbiosis Hyderabad are supposed to clear the SLAT examination. Placement: Symbiosis Hyderabad: Since the first batch graduated from the institute in 2019, it is difficult to comment on the statistics. However, more than 87% of students get placed every year in top-tier legal firms ever since from all the departments of this institute. Some of the top companies that offer internship and job placements to the students include Fox Mandals, Oyo rooms, Cyient, Tatva Legal, KSK, Bajaj Allianz general insurance, and more. The highest and the average packages that are usually offered to the students remain to be around 12 LPA and 5.6 LPA. The minimum offered package varies between 3 LPA to 4 LPA. DU: The placement cell of the university helps the students get placed in companies and get internship opportunities. The highest and the average package remain to be around 9 LPA and 4 LPA. Internship opportunities are provided to the students. During their internship period, they get corporate exposure as well as the experience of working with top lawyers of Delhi. The recruiters are mainly local law firms and NGOs. Here are the major factors that will help you make a decision. I joined Vivekananda college of du in 2015. Very nervous on the first day but with the passage of time I adjusted to the situation. All credit goes to my professors for providing me academic as well as practical knowledge. Campus is very good with walls painted with beautiful and knowledge full art. Hygiene toilets and a water purifier system is also there. The canteen is very good providing hygienic food at affordable rates. The nearby locality is also good with market and hangout points. The transportation facility is very very good near the college like you can get a share auto at rs 10 for longer distance and Rs 5 for a shorter distance. Would like to suggest everyone join this college. ...

The environment of this college is very good. Good well-educated professors. Large classroom, ground, and cheap food cantine. It's near to my home too. The reputation of the college was also too good. My many relatives had also completed their education from this College. Regular Events and Fairs in college.

My college is good in every aspect but the problem is I have choosed school of open learning in Delhi University and the problem with this is that we don't have to attend college which is the reason why I have chosen this but the main problem is they don't give notification on time, they don't provide study material on time, they always postpone exams. The admission process for the school of open learning(DU) was quite easy I went to a cyber cafe and open sol site and fill all the forms all the necessary things and done online payment and that was it I get admitted to it. Good college, one of the best universities in India, Good for political aspiring students, Very Good Aluminis, Easy access to college, Helpful Students and faculty, No problem during Admission the students help the freshers. The Reason for choosing this college over others is mainly because it is very opportunistic and cannot leave the chance to study at Delhi University where students come from all over India.

Hi Manvi, this will depend on the college you are applying for. As the university declares cut off marks for various branches and categories individually for each college, you will have to check in which college your marks match the cut off for the concerned course. First merit list was to be declared today itself i.e. June 20, 2019 (tentatively).
