NIT Goa Admissions

The Institute admits students to the B.Tech degree program on the basis of ranks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE(Main) and the scheme of Direct Admission to Students Abroad (DASA) with an intake of 30 students in each branch. For M.Tech Programme, the Institute admits students through valid GATE score followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech Admissions).

Application Procedure

The application process at NIT Goa for applicants is online. Applicants must fill the application fee online with required documents and application fee (as per the desired course).

  1. Fill the Application Form by visiting the official website of NIT, Goa.
  2. Upload Scanned Images of Photograph and Signature.
  3. Pay the application fee through credit, debit or net banking.

For Ph.D. Course:

  1. The application form and other relevant information for admission to the Ph.D. program may be downloaded from the Institute’s website.
  2. Applications form, duly filled in, must contain a crossed Demand Draft of INR 500 for General and OBC, and INR 300 for SC/ST candidates.

NIT Goa Facilities

  • Campus: Currently, a three-story building inside the Goa Engineering College(GEC) campus is renovated and refurbished with various classrooms, laboratories, administrative section and a conference hall. Also, a section of GEC has been allocated by the state government to house a few classrooms and laboratories for NIT Goa till it gets its new campus.
  • Library: Library of the National Institute of Technology Goa is a continuous growing organism with the compact features; document, user and services. Its core objective is to support academics in knowledge generation through different educational activities; teaching and research.
  • Hostels: There is a Hostel facility for students coming from far fledged areas. One has to enroll for the hostel at the time of admission. Strict rules and regulations need to be followed inside the Hostel premises.
    • Hostel Fee: INR 30,000
  • Sports: All indoor and outdoor games facilities include a gymnasium, badminton court & grounds equipped for cricket, football, volleyball, and basketball.

Ans. The rest 50% seats are reserved for the OS quota. GO quota: GO stands for Goa. GO quota can be understood as a sub-quota of the HS quota.

There are two quotas in Josaa counseling. -Home State (HS) Quota: In NITs, 50% of the seats are reserved for this quota. -Other State (OS) Quota: Under this quota, there is nearly 50% reservation of seats for candidates belonging to all other states and Union Territories excluding the Home state.

Ans. NIT Patna is a renowned institute for pursuing CSE where the placement rate is excellent. It is ranked 134th by NIRF 2019 and provides almost 90% placements every year. NIT Goa rose to 87th rank among the best engineering institutes by NIRF 2019. CSE branch from this institute received 100% placements in top MNCs in 2020.  NIT Agartala is ranked 70th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019. The institute provides 100% for CSE branches almost every year.  NIT Hamirpur is ranked 60th rank in the engineering category by NIRF 2019. The placement record for this institute is 75-80% every year.  NIT or MNIT Jaipur ranks 71st in the engineering category by NIRF 2020. It provides 100% placements for CSE branch every year.  NIT Manipur ranks 148th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019. It maintains a 70% placement record for every department every year.  Admission Process:- NIT Patna The minimum eligibility criteria for all these colleges is a BTech degree with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% aggregate.  The final selection process for the MTech program is based on the valid score in the GATE exam, which is followed by counselling.  The number of seats for this program course is 26. The cutoff required in GATE is 628.     Remarks -
    5.8 /10

    Only couple of core companies were there for placement for electrical. Though for computers they were good amount of companies. Around 40-50% eligible students were placed with the end of the placement period. Institute was just a platform for the companies to meet student. They were least bothered to develop and motivate students for cracking the interviews or the procedures. They believed in in Self service.

    "All about NIT Goa"

    Food in the hostel is not up to the mark, along with limited hostel facilities.

    "NIT Goa- a budding stage"

    Only couple of core companies were there for placement for electrical. Though for computers they were good amount of companies. Around 40-50% eligible students were placed with the end of the placement period. Institute was just a platform for the companies to meet student. They were least bothered to develop and motivate students for cracking the interviews or the procedures. They believed in in Self service.

    "Energetic year of life"

    Only the 75% attendance should be removed as we can't skip the classes for that reason. That's the only remark from my side.
