Ans. Both NITs and IITs have a high brand value and are ranked amongst the top institutions in the country. Often it is advised to pursue M.Tech from older NITs or IITs rather than newer ones, as they have a better connection in the industry and are validated by the placement records, also special mentions earned. Given below is a brief comparison. The table given below provides a brief comparison amongst the institutes: Institutes NIRF Ranking Total Fees Seat Intake NIT Trichy 24 4 LPA 100-120 NIT Warangal 46 3.6 LPA 116 NIT Calicut 23 3.2 LPA 480 IIT BBS 56 7 LPA 130 IIT Gandhinagar 35 6.8 LPA 320 IIT Hyderabad 17 8 LPA 30 Placement Statistics NIT Trichy The average placement percentage has been around 75% Highest Package offered to the students was 42 LPA whereas the average salary was 6.25 LPA Top recruiters are Cognizant, Wipro, Sonata, HSBC Bank, etc. NIT Warangal The institute recorded an average placement rate of 80% Highest Package offered was 43.3 LPA while the average package was 7.25 LPA. Many government funded and internationally collaborative research projects are carried on and students get to explore a lot and get an opportunity to curate and shape innovative ideas. It is very tough to distinguish between these colleges as these are premier institutes of the nation. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available. Hence, it is up to the student to choose a given course in a particular college.Read more
Ans. IIT BHU, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Gandhinagar are all premier institutes of India. There are three parameters on which we can differentiate these institutes for Chemical Engineering. The first one is the academic curriculum. The academic curriculum of IIT Gandhinagar is relatively better than the other two institutes since its curriculum is new and according to the latest advancements in science. Also, a lot of research work is going on in IIT Gandhinagar in the field of chemical engineering. The second factor is the infrastructure of the campus, in this IIT Hyderabad has an edge over the other two IITs. The infrastructure of IIT Hyderabad is the best amongst these three colleges and the chemical engineering department is also equipped with the latest instruments. The third and the most important factor is placements in which IIT BHU is a little ahead than these two institutes. IIT BHU is ranked amongst the top 5 colleges in India in terms of placements. In 2019 placement drive a total of 104 students from Chemical Engineering got placed and the average salary ranged between 10 LPA to 58 LPA. Chemical engineering students at IIT BHU get placed in core companies like ONGC, IOCL, HUL, Reliance, etc, and several non - core companies like Microsoft, PhonePe, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, etc. IIT Gandhinagar is also good for placements in chemical engineering since many private chemical firms are situated in Gujarat but being a new IIT, its alumni strength is not so impressive. There was over 80% placement in IIT Gandhinagar last year with average CTC 8.96 LPA. In IIT Hyderabad, 26 students from Chemical Engineering got placed with an average CTC 15.5 LPA. All three IITs have their pros and cons which makes it difficult to choose the best.Read more
