The Institute is in server need of faculty, infrastructure and good non-academi staff. Currently the Institute is being run just for the sake of it. Considering this situation and trend, if followed for another 10, there will be severe loss to the students and members of the Institute in terms of personal development.

Placement Experience :

I don't know anything about placement cause I just now entered the college. But there has been much news that last year the highest package was more than 50 lakhs and that went to M.Sc mathematics guy. There sure placements if the student has CGP more than 7.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Its actually getting quite difficult for me. we all are aware of how much NITs and IITs tend to give attention to practical knowledge as it gives to theoretical knowledge. There have been several research initiatives taken by our college. There are many elective options as GS, SGS, SS n many more.

Remarks :

Good point is freedom given to students. SVNIT doesnot beleive in tourchering students. They are given nice freedom to enjoy and the bad point is politics going on in departments and faculty members.

Ques. Should I pursue IT in NIT Surathkal or CSE in SVNIT Surat?

Ans. IT in NIT Surathkal is always a better option than CSE in SVNIT Surat. NIT Surathkal is a much better college than SVNIT Surat in almost every aspect. The faculty of SVNIT might be a little better in CSE department than NIT Surathkal in the IT department but except this, in every way, NIT Surathkal is much better. The curriculum of this college is up to date and the infrastructure of this college is also much better including the laboratories. Equipment for all the subjects is available and the students are focused on gaining practical knowledge of the subjects. Students are required to do a lot of practical tasks which helps them to understand the concepts better and clear the basics. The coding culture of this college is also very good and provides a healthy environment for the students to learn and grow. The placement records of NIT Surathkal are also much better compared to SVNIT Surat which makes this college an even better choice over SVNIT Surat. Ans. It won’t be good to compare the Dual Degree of one place to B. Tech of another. However, B. Tech (IT) from IIIT Allahabad is definitely better than B. Tech (CS) of all the NITs that have been mentioned. Keep in mind that IIITs, NITs are next to IITs in terms of excellence in the Indian Scenario. But it doesn’t mean that NITs are ranked right next to IITs as the second ones. If you want a corporate job, you need to ruin a precious one year of your life for the dual degree. Categories IIIT Allahabad Course Fee 6.65 lakh Course Duration 5 years A dual degree implies that you have made more effort than the normal degree students. You have gathered knowledge in additional subjects, which is better. This also means that your time has always been shared between projects.
