NIFTEM Admission
Admission to the Undergraduate course (B.Tech) is done on the basis of IIT JEE (Main).
JEE MAIN
JEE Main is conducted by CBSE for admission to B.E./B.Tech & B.Arch courses. JEE Main Application Form will be available in the month of December every year. Candidates need to fill in all the academic and personal information. As per JEE Main Eligibility, candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1993. Candidates applying for Paper 1 must have Physics and Mathematics along with one of these subjects Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology and candidates applying for Paper 2 must have studied Mathematics and scored an aggregate of 50% in 5 subjects.
Admission to Master course is based on GATE Score and the Ph.D. course is based on GATE/ NET scores.
GATE
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to M.Tech/ Ph.D. programs. According to GATE Eligibility, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree to apply for the exam. GATE Exam Pattern includes two type of questions- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) & Numerical Answer Type (NAT). The paper is divided into 3 sections i.e. General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics and specific subject of the paper. The duration of the exam is 3 hours with a total of 65 questions to attempt.
NET
It is a national level test held for determining eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. The NET exam is conducted in 100 different subjects. UGC NET Eligibility is that a candidate must have passed graduation with at least 55% marks.

NIFTEM Courses
NIFTEM provides various degree level courses such as Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral.
- Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology and Management is a 4-year full-time degree program. The program includes a rare blend of technology and management courses. Students are admitted to this program through IIT JEE (Main) merit list. Minimum eligibility required for admission is that candidates must pass 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Master of Technology is offered in various fields of food technology. It is a 2-year full-time postgraduate program. It is offered in five disciplines namely Food Supply Chain Management, Food Safety and Quality Management, Food Process Engineering and Management, Food Technology and Management and Food Plant Operations Management. Candidates need to have 4-year Bachelor's Degree or a Master's degree in relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. Selection of candidates will be based on their GATE Score and performance in Personal Interview.
- Ph.D. program is been offered by NIFTEM in five departments with an intake of 2 students in each department. The five departments are the Department of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences, Department of Basic & Applied Sciences, Department of Food Engineering, Department of Food Science & Technology and Department of Food Business Management & Entrepreneurship Department. The eligibility criterion is M.Tech./M.E./Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- MBA program is offered by NIFTEM is a two-year full-time course. It is offered with dual specialization namely Food & Agri-Business Management along with any one of the following Marketing/ Finance/ International Business.

NIFTEM Placement
NIFTEM has provided a very user-friendly procedure for companies to register for placement drive. The placement procedure is as follows:
- Placement office sends invite to various recruiting agencies along with all the relevant information.
- A Corporate Response Sheet (CRS) is made available for the companies on the NIFTEM official website.
- The interested companies fill in the CRS form online and send all the details related to the job.
- Companies now visit the campus for Pre-Placement Talks which include a 20-minute presentation and 10 minute Q & A round.
- Company conduct the campus drive for placement and display the final list of students selected.
