Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Solan was started by the efforts of MM University Trust. Its foundation stone was laid by Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal (Hon’ble Chief Minister, H.P.) on February 22, 2009. The university began its academic session from 2010. It is conferred as a Deemed University under section 3 of the UGC act, 1956.
