The Central University of Kashmir (formerly known as the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir), Srinagar was established in March 2009. It is one of the 13 recently established Central Universities in different states of India by the Central Universities Act, 2009. It runs and managed by Central Govt. of India. It presently functions from Transit campuses at Srinagar district and Administrative office at Hyderpora. The university imparts education in various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses. It also provides of diploma and integrated courses for its students. The university also accepts CMAT for MBA and GATE for M.Tech.

The university offers study in various undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses. In addition, the university also offers a range of diploma and integrated courses. The duration of UG and PG courses is varied.

Central University of Kashmir Admission
The registration for admission to UG and PG courses is done through online mode. Those who wish to apply can submit the form on the official website of the university. The application fee could be submitted through both online and offline modes.
Applicants with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category SC/ ST) in class 12 are eligible for admission to undergraduate courses. Applicants having a graduation degree in relevant discipline with minimum required marks are only eligible for admission to postgraduate programs. For Ph.D. admission, applicants need a degree.
Selection is done on the basis of entrance exam namely- CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks in CUCET are considered for admission.
Admission to M.Tech Program is done on of exam. Candidates having valid GATE score are only eligible for admission to the program.
MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a full-time 2 years program. Candidates seeking admission to the program need to appear for CMAT exam.

CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) is a national level test which is conducted every year in the month of May-June. CUCET Application Process starts in March and the result is usually declared by May. Before applying for the exam, applicants are advised to meet CUCET Eligibility Criteria. After CUCET Result is declared, eligible candidates will be intimated for CUCET Counseling session. A candidate will be allocated the seat based on their rank secured in CUCET Exam.
