The Central University of Jharkhand was incepted in Ranchi through the Central University Act in the year 2009 and is fully sponsored by the Central/ Federal Government. The university is exploring international collaborations and has entered into an MOU with California State University, USA, for student and faculty exchange. CUJ has 7 schools and 22 centers imparting quality education in Science, Technology, Social Science, Languages, Business Management and Journalism and Media Technologies, mostly conducting 5-year integrated courses, 2-year Masters and Ph.D. programs.

Central University of Jharkhand Courses and Admission
Admission to the Five-year Integrated M. Tech/M.B.A./M.Sc./M.A. courses, Three-year Bachelor course, Two-year LL.M./M.Sc./ M.A. courses and Ph.D. courses will be based on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Admission to the Certificate and Diploma courses will be based on Internal Entrance Test.
Integrated UG/ PG Programs
The University offers Integrated M. Tech/ MBA/ M.Sc./ M.A./ B.Ed. programs in several disciplines. The Minimum eligibility criteria is 10+2 or equivalent Examination in any relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
The University provides Bachelor programs in two streams viz, Vocal Music and Theatre. The basic criteria is Intermediate or equivalent in any discipline with 45% marks overall. Admission will be based on the entrance examination and audition.
M.Sc. and M.A. Program
The two-year Master of Science program is offered to the students in one specialization – Geo-informatics and M.A. program in five specializations namely, Human Rights and Conflict Management, Tribal Law and Governance, Folkloristics, Vocal Music and Theater Arts. The criteria to apply is Bachelor degree in a relevant stream with minimum required marks.
LL.M. Program offers Tribal and Customary Law specialization to the candidates at the Postgraduate level. The criteria to apply is LL.B. with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
To apply to two-year Bachelor of Education program, the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent examination in Science/ Social Sciences/ Humanity stream having 55% marks in aggregate or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or equivalent.
The Ph.D. program is offered in twenty specializations at the Doctoral level. The eligibility to apply is Master degree in concerned subject with at least 55% marks.
One-Year Diploma/ Six-Months Certificate Courses
The Diploma/ Certificate program is offered to the students in four disciplines - Human Rights and Conflict Management, Korean Language and Culture, Tibetan Language and Culture and Geoinformatics. Graduation is any discipline with minimum required marks is necessary to apply for Diploma program whereas, 10+2 in any discipline with minimum 45% marks is necessary to apply for the Certificate program.
