National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur is ranked at 130th in the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019. The College currently holds a total strength of 2885 including male and female students as well as a faculty of 153 highly qualified members. Formerly known as the Regional Institute of Technology, it is a Deemed College which was established on August 15, 1960, under the aegis of MHRD, Govt. of India. The College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). NIT Jamshedpur has 12 departments and 150 administrative and supporting staff.
