If you want to pursue a career in pure mathematics CSI offers more opportunities via better peer groups and abstract treatment in mathematics. In CMI one must take computer science or physics alongside maths and has to complete the course seriously. But if you are interested in the combination of maths and physics then you can apply to IISC Bangalore because the college is better at an undergraduate level in the teaching of science. Duration and Admission: IISC Bangalore offers BS (Bachelor of Science) in Mathematics for a duration of 4 years. The selection of the program is done on the basis of marks obtained in KVPY exam/IIT Mains/IIT Advanced/NEET. The duration period for the B.Sc Mathematics in CMI is 3 years and for selection, the institute conducts an entrance test. Course Curriculum: IISC has both theoretical and practical focus, in the first year of the course, students have to attend lectures as well as laboratory sessions.
