Kerala University is a public state university, also known as the University of Travancore situated in the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. There are a total of 16 faculties and 41 departments of teaching and research in the university. The university is known for focusing more on post-graduate programs, M.Phil programs, and doctoral research. Over 150 colleges are affiliated with Kerala University. Out of 150 colleges, 60 colleges are Arts and Science colleges. There are 2 Law colleges, 9 MBA colleges, and 17 B.Tech colleges. Apart from this, there are 4 Medical, 4 separate colleges for Ayurveda, 2 Homeopathy colleges, 3 Dental Colleges, and 10 Nursing Colleges. At present, around 84,000 students study in these colleges.

Kerala University Admissions

B.Tech Admissions will be granted on the basis of (KEAM) entrance conducted by CEE, Kerala. For B.Arch. Admissions NATA scores are required. For M.Tech, Candidate must have a valid GATE score.

Admission to MBA program will be granted on the basis of KMAT/ CMAT/ CAT scores followed by GD and PI rounds. For all other Master’s courses, admission is based on the marks in the university-level entrance test followed by an interview and evaluation of the relevant work experience.

Entrance Test followed by Personal Interview conducted by Kerala University. Candidates having a valid score in UGC (NET)/ CSIR (JRF) Examination (for Ph.D.) SLET/GATE/ Teacher Fellowship holders (for Ph.D.) / Direct award of Fellowship by DST (INSPIRE), ICMR, or any such national agency (Ph.D.) or any other equivalent test are also eligible for admission.

Campus Library: The University of Kerala hosts a vast library at the Kariavattom campus, started in 1976 and acts as a reference library for research scholars. The library has over 7000 books and has a subscription to over 60 periodicals. It also offers internet, reprographic, UGC - Infonet, e-journal services and many more.

Department Libraries: Apart from campus library, all the teaching departments have their own separate library i.e 34 at the campus of Kariavattom and 6 at the campus of Senate house.
