Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), also known as Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, is a State technological university that was incepted in the year 1998. The university is accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC. RGPV has 400 affiliated colleges offering courses in streams like Engineering, Forensic Science, Nanotechnology, Communication and Pharmacy. RGPV offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs on a Full-time and Online basis. Admission to RGPV will be on the basis of JEE Main, GATE, GPAT, and other State-level entrance exams. For MBA, admission is based on DTE MP Counselling.

What’s latest in RGPV?

RGPV manages to organize various activities throughout the year. At present, RGPV has started making preparations for the GATE orientation program for 3rd and 4th year Engineering students to make them well equipped with the on-going or upcoming activities related to GATE. The orientation program will begin from 1st January and will stretch up to the 5th of January. RGPV awaits the presence of its students for the event. It never fails to amaze the students with the immense education-oriented exposure that it inculcates amongst the students. 

Recently, RGPV has also extended the registration date to apply for a 2-year M.Tech in Nanotechnology to December 31, 2020. The aspiring candidates who missed out on the opportunity, have one more chance to grab it and make the best use of it.

The merit list for admissions to Ph.D. was declared in late October. The weightage provided for each aspect during admissions is as follows- Written test- 60%, Interview-20%, PG aggregated marks-20%. The interviews for the shortlisted candidates took place on Nov 5, 2020. The selected candidates have been notified to submit all the required documents latest by December 24, 2020, to be eligible for further admission procedure.

The annual tech fest ‘Synchrotons’ is one of the biggest fests organized in Central India. Colleges from all over India participate in the events conducted in the fest. RGPV Admission Process

RGPV accepts admissions based on both entrances and merit. The aspiring candidates must qualify for the relevant entrance exams to be able to be a part of the prestigious university. RGPV specializes in Forensic Science, Engineering, Nanotechnology, Communication and Pharmacy. The final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the different PG courses offered. The qualified candidates are supposed to register for the counselling procedure and fill the choices in the decreasing order of preference. The University provides various scholarships in the following categories. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Students who come from the SC/ ST/ OBC quota are eligible to get a scholarship if they secure a 75% in their HSC.
  • Students from Minority communities are eligible to get a scholarship if they secure a 75% in their HSC.
  • Students from an economically low background are eligible for a scholarship by the University.
  • Students whose parent serves/ has served in the military are eligible for a scholarship.
  • The University sponsors a scholarship under the sports quota and to students who are Physically Challenged.

        The college infrastructure of RGPV is just great. Wi-Fi is provided in the college campus and cleanliness and hygiene is also maintained in hostels and classrooms. There is a library and loves present which are required for students which is maintained also
