I can't give a 200 word justification for choosing IITB as it is pretty obvious.I live in Mumbai, I wanted to study at IITB as a result and based on my rank the best branch I could get was EE which closed at AIR 296.
MicrosoftGoldman SachsTexas instrumentsNvidiaYahooGoogleFlipkartAmazonImportant companies from CS and EE placement point of view.Almost everyone is placed. No alumni from my batch yet as I am still in college.
The best thing about IIT Bombay was the liberty and exposure it provided to the students. Right from academics and research to a plethora of extra curricular activities. It allowed you to pursue careers in fields one could not even think of before joining college. I have friends from college, who today are pursuing research as PhD students and at some very good core companies and at the same time some are among very good athletes & actors. Also, in spite of a gender ratio of 10:1, you can always find boys and girls working together towards common interests.
1st job from campus is more of a hit and trial. But yes 1-2 years down the lane and later, the alumni network definitely helps to allow you to go for better opportunities. Obviously you need to crack the interview and there is no leeway there but yes it can get you a chance.
Our college management is good, thanks to the college student body that are elected from students and actively take part in all the major decision-making process of our college and hence ensure the best for all the students.
Our college has an elaborate entrance exam called IIT-JEE which is a country wide exam and the score makes you eligible to all the IITs. The exam is of two stages, one around first week of April and another on last week of May. The entrance exam is pretty elaborate and hence people undergo preparation in their class 11 and 12 in multiple coaching centre across country. The exam is primarily on 3 subject: Maths, Physics and Chemistry. It's highly recommended that people only choose this college entrance if they are already good at it because the actual exam paper is world renowned to be the toughest of all. Choosing branch and college are highly biased on the rank you get in the exam.
Space is constraint. More multi storey hostels like 100 floors are needed. Also trees and wildlife need to be protected, lake needs to be protect. Over last 20 years, vegetation has considerably reduced lake land has been encroached. MTech dropouts are an issue, top gate rankers leave college after getting psu jobs leaving seat void. Current size of my batch is 50%, govt made law but it was reversed.
Course:Power Electronics, important for renewable energy and electric mobility in near future. IIT Bombay Power Electronics is 3rd best in placement after IISc & IITK. I got admission through BTech GPA and technical interview. Primary mode of admission is through GATE.
Everything is excellent. Highly focused on maintaining the integrity of college without any external political influence.
There were many companies that participated in campus drive. Some of them are - Google hardware, Mercedes Benz, general electric, ABB, Robert Bosch, murata, micron semiconductors, Amara Raja batteries, hcl, intel, nvidia, Hitachi etc. They all follow a conventional system that is written test and screening the students based on their requirements which then followed by interview. Around 85 % are placed. Yes, the institution take special steps to prepare the students for the placement season such as mock test, mock interviews etc.
IITs are among the best institutes for engineering in India. They have a wide range of courses available, excellent professors and education. Good placements after the college is also one of the reasons for selecting IITs. IIT Bombay is considered to be the best of them, especially for Computer Science and Technology.
There are many high quality companies which come for the placements. The placements team puts a lot of effort for smooth conduction of placements.
Best Computer Science Department.
Many international companies come and provide placement offers. Many startups also give job opportunities. My current batchmate Kalpit Veerwal has a startup Acadboost which is doing great.
The college is doing great except the huge number of seats reserved for people from different casts and not necessarily economically backward students.
The admission to all IITs is through the common joint entrance examination called JEE. There are 2 levels to this exam - mains and advanced. You need to clear JEE main with some criteria fluctuating every year to get to give JEE advanced. Your admission then depends on your rank in JEE advanced.
This is the India's no 1 college. Campus Life of Iitb is awesome. Everyone enjoyed here environment because here comes student from all over the word. Here professor's teaching style is wonderful because all are graduate from best University of word
Here's placements team is very active for students. In our department placement is good. Student did preparation for placement after first semester. And most of students got placed in third semester of master Student.
It's the best engineering college in India and has been my dream college ever since I came to know more about it. The college is full of activities and the on campus education experience is really good.
These opportunities are good. The selection ratio is really nice with a good amount of median salary. Lots of famous companies come for the purpose of recruitment and almost every student gets placed in some company or the other.
