Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai or IIT Bombay is a Public Institute established in the year 1958. IIT Bombay was decreed as the Institute of National Importance by the Parliament in 1961. The Institute is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). IIT Bombay is one of the 23rd highest Institutes of Technology in India, the Institute was established with the aim to provide facilities for higher education, research, and training in various programs of Science and Technology.
IIT Bombay admissions are based on the entrance exam score and on the bases of performance in a written test and personal interview. The Institute has presently more than 10,000 students undergoing various UG programs, PG programs, and Doctoral program.
