Masters in Public Policy and Governance at TISS

Fees -

It's Feasible, First Semester Fee is ?38200 which decreases every semester by ?10000 in second semester and ?2000 in third and second semester. If students belongs to marginalized community they gets financial aid.

Course Curriculum -

Course Curriculum is well designed by Top Policy Professionals, the chairperson of the School is the person who first brought Public Policy as a discipline in India. Exam Structure: TISS follows UGC recommend Semester System, in which students have to write assignments and exams, it depends on the professors if they will be taking exams or assignment of their courses.

Fees -

Expensive for a college providing specialising in social sciences. My fees for the two years came around 2 - 2.5 lakhs. This includes mainly hostel, mess, tuition fees, exam fees, computer etc. Moreover, first year students are not provided hostel accomodation so they are supposed to rent a flat or pg outside. Average monthly rent comes around 8000.

Course Curriculum -

The course structure mainly concentrates on Disaster Management from a social perspective. Our final semester in college is completely dedicated to research as our department expects us to come up with quality dissertations. There are also papers on Remote Sensing and GIS in Disaster Studies but the technical aspects still needs to be developed.

Fees -

Fees is pretty much decent here for masters in social work the average fees(excluding food and hostel) is about 66000 for 1st year. In second year every student would get hostels and for that the fee will 1.2 lakh per year(including food, electricity, stay everything). Though there are ongoing discussion between the administration and student union regarding the hike in fee.

Course Curriculum -

Masters in social work could be seen as a course with a very pragmatic and designed infusion of both academics as well as ground level professional experiences. Course is design in such a way that the learning focused on thinking more out of the box for most of the severe issue in our society existing today.

Moved out with a perspective.

Fees -

Its very reasonable, however, the scholarships, financial aids and regular reimbursements are being provided to students who can not afford. I would say its the best and affordable institute in India where you get the opportunity to complete your masters in 2 lakh.

Course Curriculum -

Course curriculum is very inclusive as it is bit different from the courses offered at other institutions. universities as TISS has certain objectives and institute is successfully achieving leaning outcomes by engaging students in full time and part time on-going projects and also engaging students to find emerging areas to be touched for introduction of new projects. Hence, the institute is up to date in terms of work, consultancy and guidance & knowledge.Course curriculum is appropriate and yes it is better than any reputed b-schools/ IIMs.

This structure gives platform to all categories of student rich or poor they can easily take admission, Moreover to the poor and SC/st students get scholarship for their studies in Tiss which help them to study without facing and economic conditions

Course Curriculum -

The course is absolutely fabulous, here we learn the ground reality by field work and internship done by us in the rural, remote and urban areas which are vulnerable and prone to Disaster. Even we have gone to Nehal during Nepal earthquake. A life changing experience

Fees -

The course is low cost. For general category candidates the course fee is between rupees 20000-25000 per semester including stay and food cost. For SC/ST candidates the course is almost free. They have to pay some rupees 3000 per semester which again can be exempted on case to case basis.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum was rigorous but student friendly. Very well designed course curriculum by the stalwarts of Education Sector in India belonging to organizations like Eklavya, Digantar and Vidya Bhawan. The assessment was based fully on the assignments and classroom participation. No examination at all.
