IIM Shillong Admission Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to IIM Shillong for any course, must have a valid corresponding bachelor’s or master’s degree. They are also required to qualify for the entrance exam as per admission requirement. Application forms are made available on the respective official websites. The selection criteria for the academic programs are based on the national level entrance exams below:

IIM Shillong Scholarships

Students get assistance for obtaining educational loans from banks during admission process. IIM Shillong Scholarship includes Need-Based Financial Assistance Scheme to help economically weaker students studying in PGP. 

Apart from this, the Fellow Program in Management which can be pursued in Economics, Marketing, and other disciplines is one where students are given stipends and fellowships. 

  • For the first year, a student will be given INR 20,000, for second and third year INR 25,000, and for the fourth year, INR 30,000.
  • An additional stipend of INR 5,000 will be paid to students for the academic duty assigned up to 10 hours a week.
  • Students who will be teaching full 30 credits courses will be given an additional stipend of INR 7,000.

Ques. What is the fee of the PGP Executive MBA program at IIM Shillong?

Ans. IIM Shillong fees for PGPEx is around INR 18.75 Lakhs. This amount includes tuition fees – INR 16.5 Lakhs, mess charges, electricity charges, health insurance, student activity charges.

Ans. The candidates are sent an invitation via phone call or mail, whereby, the location and time of the interview are informed to the student. In the PI round, the candidate is usually given a situation where he/ she must suggest some actions or measures that may help the organization to increase its profits or improve its management. For example, “a cake manufacturing company is facing some losses for the past few months. the company was given an opportunity to subcontract its brand with another company.” the candidates were asked their course of action in this situation.

The interview panel may also start to ask simple questions such as “what does your father do? Why did you choose to pursue PGP from IIM Shillong”? etc. These questions then become tricky and they start to check your IQ by asking about “Why did your father chose to be in your grandfather’s business? You have worked under your father for 2-3 months, What is GST?” etc.
