Central University of Odisha is one of the 15 new Central Universities so established by the Government of India. CUO was located at Koraput District of Odisha, which comes within the KBK region (Koraput, Bolangir and Kalahandi) in the State of Odisha.
The CUO is accredited by NAAC and approved by the UGC. It offers several UG, PG and Doctoral courses in various specialisations.
Location wise, it is very close to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Sunabeda. Damanjodi railway station is at a distance of about 15 Kms and Koraput railway station is at 25 Kms. The total university campus land size is 450.09 acres spread over village Chikapar and the adjoining Chakarliput. CUO consists of its seven constituent schools of several departments offering various courses.

Central University of Orissa Admissions
CUO has a total of 7 schools, 14 Departments and offers multiple courses. It has a variety of courses to offer at UG, PG and Doctorate level.
For all the courses, admissions are offered on the basis of CUCET - Central Universities Common Entrance Test. The registration for CUCET begins in the month of March and the exam is conducted in the month of May or June every year
How to apply?
To apply for the Central University of Orissa, any course, candidates need to appear for the CUCET Entrance Examination conducted jointly by 14 Universities.

- In Registration Details select:
- Category 1 UI (for BCA and Integrated M.Sc programme)
- Category 2 PG (For B.Ed, MA, M.Sc and MBA programmes)

- After the registration details, fill Personal details, Academic details, Photo and Signature
- After all the information filing, going to University and select the Central University of Orissa and select programme details of your candidature
- Recheck all the information and go to the payment window
- After paying the application form fee, your application process will be completed
- Candidates who are awaiting results may also apply for the exam
- After the exam, the selected students will be called for counselling / Interviews
Also, any candidate who hasn’t selected the Central University of Orissa while filling the CUCET Application form but has a valid CUCET score in a relevant subject can directly apply for admission by reporting at University on the notified date.

CUO has quite a good class of faculties belonging to several departments of its constituent colleges and schools.
The Central University of Orissa consists of 14 Departments of various specializations under 7 Schools of study. Each department is headed by the head of the department and consists of highly educated and qualified Professors and Assistant professors. The faculty of CUO is highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields of teaching. The administration is led by chancellor of the college Prof. PV Krishna Bhatta who also has a teaching background with a major in Sociology.
