IIT, Bhubaneswar is one of the prime technology institute of India which provides the fully residential facility for its students. The Hostel facilities carries three Hostel blocks under which one is for ladies and rest of two are for gents students. These hostel blocks can house about 1000 plus students together. For Gents they are offered Mahanadi Hall of Residence and Dr. A.N. Khosla Hall of Residence which are mentioned below
- Mahanadi Hall of Residence – It is a Boy’s hostel which offers 800 hostel accommodations for students. All the hostel rooms are single occupant basis along with the facility of Wi-Fi, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Badminton Court, Table Tennis and Carom etc. The hostel is located in a main campus at Arugul.
- Dr. A.N. Khosla Hall of Residence – This hostel is also offered by the institute for boys. The hostel can house 240 students. The hostel is situated near the Samantapuri Campus.

A single room with single bed. A study table with a chair. Apart from these room is well finished and properly designed for students. It also given switches, fan, light bulb, and a window and my favourite balcony. A cupboard for keeping my clothes and other things.

The hostel fee is 14000 per semester, which includes the mess fee. The Hostel fee is to be paid at a time before reaching college. The mess menu is provided to the students and the same menu is followed every week. The menu is designed in such a way that it includes all nutrients, vitamins, minerals, proteins required for a student.

Boys hostel is well built with good infrastructure and single rooms and common washrooms. Mess is in the ground floor with hygienic utensils and environment. Washing machines are available every floor.

IIT Bhubaneswar is close to my home, so I had a preference for it. The admission to IIT depends on the rank obtained in the JEE Advanced exam. So, Based on my rank in the JEE Advanced exam there will be 7 counseling rounds for the college selection. So, based on the opening and closing rank of a college or course of a college the web options are filled. By the End of the 7 rounds, the college is allocated. So, after paying the fee the student comes to college, and verification of documents is done.
