PGPM course from IIMU changed my life for good. It was a roller coaster of learning experiences. The institute is pretty much dedicated towards preparing the leaders for the future. One of the best things about the institute was that they were constantly emphasizing on imposing cultural diversity and academic diversity to infuse a varying perspective in the classroom for enhanced learning.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
First year fee for my PGPM course was just over 6 lacs for the first year, which is at least less than other IIMs. The total course fee was around 12 lacs for the two year program, which I paid in biannual installments.
College Events :
The college organizes awesome Solaris named management fest. Apart from that, the sports activities were limited. College is well immersed in academics and we have very little time for extracurricular activities apart from the annual fest and occasional workshops.
Campus Life :
Our campus had Bloomberg lab with at least 12 fully equipped terminals is provided. Library is stacked with books and journals from different disciplines like analytics, finance, marketing, human resource and other management books. Sports facilities are generally bad since we are too absorbed in our academics. Overall the social life was good, depending upon how well you managed it.
Teachers are well qualified with a high level of expertise. They are really helpful with extensive corporate exposure which helped us with a hands-on learning experience.
Admission to the IIMs is on the basis of CAT exam scores. I scored 94 %ile in the entrance exam and it was not enough to be eligible for the counseling process of the other top IIMs. So I attended counseling for Udaipur. Luckily, I was able to crack the proceeding rounds.
Placement Experience :
Placements are pretty good at our college. The package offered ranges from 8 LPA to 27 LPA. The average package offered us 14 lakhs per annum. IIMs are known for their best-in-business placements. Some of the frequent recruiters include Goldman Sachs, ICICI Lombard, Pidilite, Amazon, and HDFC. Most of the recruitments are done for the role of general management and product management.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum was relevant and is very well designed to meet the real world expectations from corporates. It makes the students industry-ready. The curriculum covered a wide range of disciplines and gives a good hand to all the functions. So I have chosen this course. More case studies and practical applications should be added, and that could be helpful.
Ques. Which should I join, IIM Trichy/IIM Udaipur?
● Top Answer By Pragya Raijada on 02 Jun 21
Ans.My cousin is a career counselor and she thinks both institutes are worth it. Let’s talk about specifics; IIM Trichy gives its students a way better exposure than IIM Udaipur. If there no such inclination from your end, then what institute you end up getting admission to does not make much of a difference because both are big names. But, if you have a preference, IIM Trichy can be a good place.
As per NIRF rankings, both IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur are consistently ranked featured among the top 15 B-schools in the country for a number of years. They achieved this feat despite being less than a decade old themselves.
However, IIM Udaipur is on the verge of getting bankrupt. It has taken a loan by using its land as security for giving salaries to the faculty. The institute has been taken from riches to rags by its current director.Read more
Ques. Which IIM is the best (IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur or IIM Tiruchirappalli)?
● Top Answer By Rekha Jain on 31 Mar 21
Ans.As per all the data considered and the various aspects that have been seen thoroughly, it can be concluded that IIM Kashipur has been ranked the least among the three.

Cognizant, Deloitte, Infosys, etc.
When we talk about Tiruchirapalli and Udaipur, most people recommend Tiruchirapalli over Udaipur for many reasons. This is particularly because Udaipur is overly dependent on the director, who it is believed, has, unfortunately, a very myopic view on placements. This becomes slightly a drawback for IIM Udaipur.
Tiruchirapalli, on the other hand, is said to have a more balanced and better, nuanced approach towards academics, extracurricular as well as placements. These are the several reasons why Tiruchirapalli is given preference over Udaipur.Read more
Ques. What should I choose between MDI Gurgaon and IIM Udaipur?
● Top Answer By Bhavya Sharma on 31 Mar 21
Ans.MDI Gurgaon is the better option among the two because of its location, placements, and even for the competitions and live projects that it offers.
#17 by NIRF
#10 by NIRF
Accenture, Casio, Hindustan Unilever, etc.
Airtel, Cipla, ITC, etc.
Some more reasons are listed below:
MDI Gurgaon has an extensively wide and large alumni base. It also has a stronger academic team and its reputation had been built by them for years in the industry.
Although IIM Udaipur is new, it is an exceptionally good college and it has alumni at most of the middle management positions in the industry.
It is important to consider the tag of the IIM as it is not an argument here and should not be considered at all.
IIM Udaipur will be taking a long time to get the type of reputation that the older IIMs have as it is a new IIM. Yet, it can be asserted that IIM Udaipur will reach there as it has the support of the Human Resource and Development Ministry (HRD).
The main question that arises is “When is this going to happen?”. Therefore, it is important to understand that IIM Udaipur has not yet achieved the mark to be compared with colleges like MDI, Gurgaon.
It all depends on you – if you want to invest in the long shot and be recognized as one of those students who were a part of the early alumni or you would want to invest in an already established institution and make the most of your course.Read more
Ques. What CAT percentile do I need for IIM Udaipur?
● Top Answer By Kunal Pandey on 31 Mar 21
Ans.Among all the top IIMs, IIM Udaipur is one of the best-performing IIMs. Although it is a new IIM, it has been able to maintain its mark. It is included as a part of CAP which is known as the Common Admission Process and a student can get admitted through it.
In this Process, all new and a few baby IIMs conduct a single interview. Then as per their admission criteria, the students are offered admission to their respective PGP programs.
It might seem like a complicated process but it is a simple and smooth one.
Students receive calls for an interview solely based on their CAT score. Therefore, to receive a call for the interview from IIM Udaipur, you need to score 96.5+ percentile overall along with 80+ percentile in all three sections.
If a student manages to score this well, then only a student is deemed fit for IIM Udaipur.
If you are a Male and have completed your Engineering from General Category, then for the call, 98+ percentile with a very decent interview will be required along with an above-average academic score.
In the case of academic or gender diversity, 97 percentile with a good interview would be a satisfactory score to receive a call.
IIM U also considers a student’s academic score for giving out the final offer so if you have a below-average score in academics, then you should try to score 99+.Read more
Ques. What is a better choice, IIM Udaipur or FMS Delhi, and why?
● Top Answer By Gagan Mehta on 20 Feb 21
Ans.Among the above two institutes, FMS Delhi is the better choice, having a number of reasons supporting the cause. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the two institutes.
NIRF ’20 Rank
Total Fees (MBA)
Highest Salary Offered
Total number of seats (MBA)
CAT cut-off percentile
Some key highlights supporting the choice are listed below:
FMS is a stronger brand than IIM Udaipur. Although IIM has its own glamour, the college name makes a difference and Udaipur is considered to be a newer one.
The history of the institute, placement records, alumni base, and present students’ achievements make the fame of an institute. FMS is leading the race in them.
In MBA, networking is one of the major reasons for candidates to pursue a degree. The group of peers is the network that is to be carried on for life. Supporting the cause, FMS Delhi is leading over IIM Udaipur in this case too.
FMS Delhi has a very strong alumni base, being a much older institute. An older institute with the best possible recruiters creates a strong alumni base.
FMS provides a much better placement than IIM Udaipur because of a bigger brand name, the better quality of students, strong alumni who consist of leaders from recruitment firms that visit the campus, etc.
There are several competitions, awards, and scholarships in which FMS gets a chance to rank in those, whereas IIM Udaipur doesn’t.
The fee for FMS is very low, even less than Rs.2 Lakhs in total, as compared to fees in IIMs. There are students who earn even more than the entire fee just by internships, scholarships, competitions, etc throughout the course.
Overall, it can be considered that FMS stands much ahead of IIM Udaipur in terms of almost everything that is essential for the students. Almost every ranking authority ranks FMS above IIM Udaipur, based on their criteria.Read more
