Ans. Sikkim Manipal University is the country's first public-private partnership (PPP) for higher education and health services. NIRF 2020 has ranked the institute 151 among all the universities in India. SMU offers almost 60 courses in 10 fields including Engineering courses. It offers B.Tech programs in CE, CSE, IT, EEE, ECE, and ME. SMU is ranked 55th and 86th by The Week 2020 and by Outlook 2019 for Private Engineering. Admission: Admission to B.Tech programs at SMU is done through scores obtained at JEE Mains/MET or SMIT Entrance Test. For BTech candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized boards. In the case of lateral entry BTech, the selection is done on the basis of qualifying degree marks and entrance examination scores. The total course fee for BTech at SMU is 12.2 lakhs. Facilities: The library at SMIT spans 3500Sq m carpet area with a capacity of 541 students. The library stacks 61368 number of books, 20525 Titles, 2065 Bound Periodicals, and several e-resources which include, j-gate and engineering and technology, ASTM Digital Library, IEEE, IEEE POP, American Society of Civil Engineers, etc. Placement: In the year 2018 and 2017, the percentage of job offers was 92.8% and 92.5% respectively. In 2019 the placement statistics for BTech courses at the institute are as follows. Criteria B.Tech at SMU Students Placed 95.5% Average Salary 4.85 LPA Highest Salary 18 LPA Major recruiters of Sikkim Manipal University include Microsoft, Bosch, Shell, Wells Fargo, Infosys. TCS, Ericsson, Wipro, Idemia, AGS, etc. Achievement Projects in SMIT are sponsored by DST, DBT, FIST, AICTE, DRDO, and ISRO. All the 52 sponsored projects have been completed which had an estimated budget of Rs 15.40 Crores. A sophisticated Radar System developed by SMIT has been successfully installed in DRDO, Hyderabad. One patent with the title ‘An Automated Bicycle with AI’ has been granted by the Govt. The remote Sensing & GIS division at SMIT has been established under the ISRO. The Supercomputing facility ‘Param Shavak’ has been installed at SMIT in joint collaboration with CDAC Pune. Alumni: Notable alumni of Sikkim Manipal University include Arati Devi, India’s Youngest Elected Sarpanch, and Rejith Menon who is an Indian Film Actor. Ans. The MBA program at SMU is ranked amongst the top 10% of MBA programs in India, and the MBA program at LPU is ranked 40th in India by the Outlook 2020. SMU has a total of 25 MBA courses, and LPU has around 8. The total fee for SMU ranges between 1-4 lakhs with 60 seats in the general MBA course. The total fee for LPU ranges between 4-6 lakhs, with 360 seats for the general MBA and 20-30 seats in the other courses. Admission: SMU: Candidates need to sit for the university entrance examination and score 45% in the test. Scores from CAT/CMAT/GMAT/IGNOU/SNAP/XAT are also accepted. LPU: CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT scores are accepted. Candidates need 55% in their graduate-level program to be eligible for an MBA in LPU. Placements SMU: 90% of students get placed. A total of 378 students received over 400 job offers in 2020. The highest salary is 18 LPA, and the lowest is around 5 LPA. Some of the companies that came to recruit are Wells Fargo, Ixia, Think and Learn, Bosch, Amazon, IBM, and Dell. LPU: Around 90% of students get placed at LPU. The average salary ranges between 5 LPA-6 LPA, the highest is around 48 LPA, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Infosys, and Google come for recruitment. I choose the course as my friend suggest me regarding it and wanted to complete my post-graduation in It and therefore I choose MBA in it as nowadays we are used to working on computers and in today's IT sector a person should have the knowledge of the IT which will help the person for future references. The student ratio was about 5:5 as there was an equal number of male and female were present in the classes. The faculty has an experience of about 20 years in the continuously evolving field of management education, classes at the college are interactive in nature and are a healthy mix of formal lectures, case studies and presentations. An equal weightage of 50% is given to both internal and external exams. Tests are conducted on a regular basis which can be both planned as well as a surprise in nature. Although surprise tests are not very common students try and stay as up to date as possible in subjects such as finance and economics where you won't know your knowledge is to test.

Well let me talk about MBA first since it was distance learning didnt get to meet the faculty, however the course curriculum was good and the syllabus was emailed to us by the regional LAC i.e. the learning centre. In graduation my college faculty was great especially my financial accounting teacher Mrs Neetu. The syllabus was detailed by the university itself and interacted to us via our faculties. Industrial exposure here was great too as recruitment drives from big named companies used to be conducted in my college
