Ans. Anna University is the best among all state universities in Tamil Nadu. It is quite affordable in terms of fees for students coming from a middle-class family. The constituent colleges of the university fall under the top-ranked institutes. However, in terms of curriculum, AU is harder than VIT. But the assessments are easy and direct. VIT boasts of a multicultural environment with students from various parts of the country and even foreign nationals, whereas the students in AU are largely from Tamil Nadu.

Ans. Yes, the university offers admission to students from outside of Tamil Nadu. One can apply through ‘Other State Students’ Quota’. The university releases an advertisement in newspapers inviting applications for admission. Selection is mainly through a single-window counseling system which is based on marks scored in the 10+2 exam. Around 150 seats are reserved for other state students distributed among the constituents colleges.

Ans. IIT Bhubaneswar offers VLSI as one of the electives in the course curriculum of M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The program is quite good both in terms of academics and placement opportunities. According to NIRF, IIT Bhubaneswar is ranked 22 among top engineering institutes. The admission is done through GATE score and the total course fee is 4.62 lakhs. In 2019, a total of 69% of students from the M.Tech courses got job offers and the average CTC was around 11.4 LPA.
