Ans. Between these two comparisons, IIT Dhanbad is better than IIT Madras. The main reason behind this is the better placement statistics in Computer Science. However, the condition of the Civil Engineering branch is quite awful, considering any colleges in India. The placement records in IIT Dhanbad for CSE department has reached the peak. Another important thing is that IIT Dhanbad has become well-groomed in this culture and represents itself as an ancient Technological Institute in this country. The main consideration for IIT Madras is that it is located in the Metropolitan City. Still, the weather of Madras is very terrific and cannot be ever compared with the weather of Dhanbad. Thus, if the student doesn’t have a strong understanding of Civil Engineering, then they must choose CSE at IIT Dhanbad. Both the institute offers decent placements for the M.Tech in ECE. IISc has an Office of Career Counselling and Placement(OCCap), which takes care of the placement of the institute. The major recruiters at IISC include Microsoft, Flipkart, Adobe, Qualcomm and government agencies like HP and Bharat Petroleum. The average placement package offered in the 2019 placement drive was 15 lakhs. The internship hiring of the 2020-21 batch had the highest stipend of 1.15 lakh per months while the average was 57,000/- per month. Ans. IIT Madras (IITM) is ranked 1st in the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019. They have a strong and highly qualified faculty of 630 members, most of them being PhD holders and have a student strength of 6638. BTech in IITM is a 4 year full time undergraduate course. Students after completing their 10+2 and securing a JEE Advanced rank can apply for a BTech program. BTech and MTech dual degree is a 5 year course which will give students a both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Technology or Engineering. Process of Conversion into a Dual degree The change will be initiated at the end of the 1st semester. Overall GPA of the 1st semester will be considered. This might depend on the vacancies. The process involves filling out a form and signing with the Faculty Advisor and HoD. The strength of a class should not fall below the existing strength by more than 10% and should not go above the sanctioned strength by more than 10% percent. The cut off of the CGPA is 7.5 and higher. After the 7th semester it is not allowed to change the degree from BTech to Dual degree. The advantages of taking a dual degree (BTech + MTech) gives the students an opportunity to receive both degrees with a year to spare. IIT Madras offers dual degree programs in Engineering Design. It is a very practical course and offers a lot of opportunities. The students with a good GPA can get recruited by core companies. In 2019 placements, students of ED got placed in reputed companies with packages ranging between 7 LPA to 26 LPA. The placement rate of ED was 83%. The department of Mechanical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar has good infrastructure and classrooms. It also has a product design lab, the place where all engineering design comes alive. The course is relatively a new course, and was introduced in 2006. It is hence quite updated and offers specialisations in automotive design, biomedical design and robotics(the allocation for robotics is CGPA based). A lot of focus is given on labs. Another benchmark is a semester long 6 month industrial internship during the eighth semester which is mandatory for all the students of this branch (this is unique to the branch of engineering design). Fee structure is feasible and most of the students in our college get scholarships and we can get educational loan easily without any collateral. Modes of payment can be done through online payment also and forward receipt. There is no management fee in our college and all the admission are though pure merit only. Yes my colllege provides transparency in fees collected.

In my college all my course materials are research driven and we do have hands on experience with all live experimental study where we had access to good softwares ( thanks to my professors ) CFM studies, wave flumes ( Only present in all of asia ), and we had individual hands on experience with the machineries, workshops. In my final year project we are provided license keys to high cost CFM softwares. Our exam structure is two quizes and one final semester all conceptual exams. Our placement team is top notch and we had a lot of companies coming to choose students in various fields. One mandatory industrial course was organized for us by the college and if interested we were sent for many others with the help of professors contacts.
