Need more marketing and local popularity. most of the students are from outside Kerala. in local it is not well known. so prefer more marketing around local and some initiatives around the city for more placements
Entrance test called- CET common entrance test conducted by University all india based. from that 500 students are shortlisted and allot the campuses according to the rank and preference of students. by the allotments seat will be allotted
The only thing is it had compulsory hostel even you are having home in same city or area. It leads to make gap between your home and family. And they would train you so hard with Parades, drills, Exercise, etc.
Have to get application and apply to get date for entrance exams, After clearing Entrance exam, if the student passed the entrance exam, they have to pay the counselling fee and get the seat allocated in the college.
The infrastructure and other facilities provided by the College is good. The faculties are good and caring. A grear experience to be a student of Indian Maritime University. The non teaching staffs are also treated well.
The admission process was quite simple. Since after getting through the merit list, then the procedure was to submit the certificate and attend a simple interview. The other courses offered by the College was residential courses. Since i had a keen interest in the specialization offfered by my College in regards to BBA.
Very good academics and sports but the help or facilities we need is not given to us when we need it and the organization is not supportive. The director we need must be supportive and should understand us like Yogesh shah sir was the best director of IMU.
First the basic need was to get more than 60 % in 12th board then to get minimum 60 marks in PCM, then to get more than 65 in English subject. Next step IMU-CET the first step to IMU clear it then the merit list will decide the rank you stand in the country this exam is all over India ,so I got rank 4028 then the merit list will decide which college you need three were there Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata. Then the medical by DG approved doctor Then the documents verification, and the fees of the government colleges were less than the private so it made me easy to chose the colleges and Mumbai was selected for me.
The best thing about the university is that it is under the central government, ministry of shipping, and the certificate has value round the globe. The campus is strictly professional and the students opting IMU will surely miss the campus life
IMU School of Maritime Management offers MBA and BBA courses. The admission is through University Entrance Examination, IMU CET. The examination will be common for MBA and MSc programs. According to the preference by each student, they will be allocated to various IMU campuses respective of the ranks in the entrance. BBA admission is through the twelfth marks
From overall experience the college is one of the best in Chennai. The are giving high quality education with a good amount of placements every year. The only drawback is that now a days lots of colleges are coming up and the demand for new candidates is decreasing.
Admission is done by passing CET (Common Entrance Test). The application for this test can be obtained from www.imu.edu.in.After passing the test we can give online allotment for the preffered courses.
One of the negative thing about the college is that sports. The college only focus on a adamics. We must have a college team. And we also want to play with the other teams. This is the only negative comment we have
A merit list will be published and the candidates will be selected according to the rank. And there will be intervie for the selected candidates. And the admission will take place. There also first cum first serve option in admission. It only take place after there is seats after the three callings by list
Negative remark is that there is no events are made in between the college hours. So these should be established in the college campus. So it makes more skills in between the students life. Because it creates more value
Apply in imu website by paying feee. Then a eligible list is been published when there is the name in the list we can took admission. First we need to pay a online fee to restrict or reserve the seat while other should enter
The facilities provided by the college is great and the infrastructure are good. The bad fact that for MBA students they don't provide hostel facilities so it is difficult to find out side a place to live.
Through entrance exam only. In this university only admission is through entrance exam not other ways are there. After entrance exam ranks will be provided on the basis of that and on the basis of rank admission is given.
Positives - Infrastructure , Faculty , Campus placements Negatives - It's actually quite far off from the city of Chennai , roughly 30kms from Chennai Central , A ship simulator is a thing which you are certainly going to miss here , apart from that what can be a con for someone is that during the first year of our training there are a lot of restrictions levied upon the candidates , although it's only for our good and for our personality development.
I had to apply for Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test aka IMUCET which is a pan India Online Entrance Test , after which I had to pay the counselling fees of ?10,000 and I was assigned a college according to my preference and my rank in the CET. Finally Candidates need to pay ?25000 in order to confirm the seat alloted to them.
