TNOU Courses & Admission
The University offers 44 specializations of UG Courses under many streams such as B.A., B.Com., BBA, BCA, and B.Sc., etc. whereas at PG level the University offers 34 specializations in numerous streams as M.A., M.Sc. M.Com., MBA, MCA, M.L.I.Sc., etc. The University also offers various UG and PG Diploma courses to the candidates. Apart from all, there are provisions of various certificate courses with the basic eligibility criteria as 10+2 standard.
TNOU UG Admission
Admission to UG courses is on the basis of marks acquired by the candidate in 12th or equivalent from a recognized board. Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in TNOU BPP (Tamil Nadu Open University – Bachelor’s Preparatory Program) exam.
TNOU PG Admission
Candidates applying for PG courses must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 50% aggregate. Selection will be made on the basis of marks acquired in the Bachelor’s degree.
TNOU Diploma Courses Admission
The Institute offers Diploma Courses at the UG and PG level. Candidates applying for these courses at UG level must be a high-school graduate (10+2) and for those applying to PG diploma courses a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is mandatory.

- Scholarships are offered to candidates who are disabled or belong to reserved categories.
- Students who belong to SC/ST and are pursuing distant education are eligible for scholarships if the annual income of the parents is less than INR 1.00,000.
- Students with Permanent Disability can also get their tuition fee waived off by applying in this criteria in the prescribed application format. The students should produce the certificate for the same Permanent Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format at the time of counseling and admission.
