Ans. There are three options that you can look forward to, while choosing the college. You can refer to the points I have made for an easy comparison, mentioning mine as well as my batchmates' experience of studying in different colleges. Option-1: B.Tech IT from JSS Noida, CCET Chandigarh, or UIET. Studying at CCET Chandigarh i have to mention that, it does not offer an IT program but offers a CSE program. So, if you are looking forward to pursuing IT, then UIET (Panjab University) is the best option among all the colleges. CSE and IT students receive similar opportunities. In 2019, a total of 56 companies offered 309 jobs to the students of UIET. CSE being their highest placed branch followed by IT and ECE. The companies that offered jobs to both CSE and IT students include Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, KPMG and many more. With the PU tag and a NIRF ranking of 72, UIET records good placements among all the three. The following table will provide you the course fees of each college and the salary packages offered - Categories JSS Noida CCET Chandigarh UIET VIT Chennai Shiv Nadar, Noida Course Fee 2.20 lakh 2.45 lakh 3.20 lakh 1.76 lakh 9.40 lakh Highest CTC 8 LPA 15 LPA 30 LPA 41.6 LPA 31.5 LPA Average CTC 4 LPA 6 LPA 7 LPA 7.25 LPA 6.35 LPA Option-2: B.Tech ECE from VIT Chennai. VIT Chennai is a very good option. VIT Chennai has a brand name of Vellore Institute of Technology. B.Tech students at VIT Chennai receive placement opportunities from top companies like Microsoft, HP, TCS, Phillips and Bosch. If distance, transportation and location are not your primary concern you can easily opt for it. Option-3: B.Tech CSE from Shiv Nadar in Noida. If CSE is your choice, then you can definitely opt for this college. Shiv Nadar is a private university so a financial backup is necessary. It has a huge campus with all the necessary amenities. The return on investment is not that satisfactory. The fee is Rs.9.40 Lakhs and it is quite higher than the other institutions. Overall, if your interest lies in ECE then the VIT Chennai can be declared as the winner here. You may collaborate on some CS or IT courses or certifications, along with a VIT ECE program if you have a little interest in CS or IT. If you are interested in IT opt for UIET and if CSE is your preference then CCET will be a better option.Read more
Ans. Under the B.tech category in India of NIRF 2020, VIT Chennai is placed at 13th position whereas NIT Nagpur is spotted at number 27. VIT is popular for its B.tech CSE course unlike (V)NIT Nagpur which offers ECE as its flagship course. BM at XLRI is one of the most demanded programs as the Institute is ranked 9th best business schools in India by NIRF 2020. Admission VIT Chennai: VIT offers VITEEE for admission in the B.tech program. Aspirants must have AIR below 5,000 in order to make it to VIT Chennai in the first round. XLRI offers a two year PGDM(BM) course at the course fee of 2.9 lakhs per annum. Focusing back on your question, B.tech+BM will consume your six years which you have to completely dedicate to your studies. Eventually, it will turn fruitful as you will end up in a high profile job post your PGDM(BM) from XLRI. XLRI even offers 100% placement assurance and 26 LPA, average CTC. On the other hand, B.tech from NIT Nagpur is also a good option. The BAA job profile at ZS associates will demand you to perform Excel-workbooks, PowerPoints, Data research, analysis, execution, etc depending upon the clients you work with. Having work experience is no harm where you can be financially independent 2 years prior to your option-1. You can further go back to study PGDM at any top Institutes. The deciding factor here lies in your passion and inclination either towards HR/ management or the core Engineering field. Decide what is best for you.Read more

Ans. BITS Goa boasts highly of its alumni network. And, the proof of the same is visible with students getting masters from Carnegie Mellon, placements in Google Mountain View, Amazon Seattle, Apple Cupertino, Microsoft Redmond, Facebook Menlo Park, 6+ in Amazon India, 6+ in Flipkart, 4+ in Epic Systems, Goldman Sachs, etc. Students at BITS have a compulsory six-month internship (for a single degree) and a 12 month internship (for a dual degree). People also get PPOs with a stipend between 20-30k. The companies which offer internships are Amazon, Microsoft Research, Nutanix, Flipkart, Dreamworks (USA), Samsung, EMC, etc. These internships reward 20 credits to the semester score of a student. Criteria BITS Hyderabad VJTI BITS Goa VIT NIT (taking Trichy which is at 1st in NITs) Course Fee 4.23 lakhs (1st year) 82,350 3.99 lakhs (1st year) 1.98 lakhs (1st year) 1.49 lakhs (1st year fees) No. of Companies 200 100+ 310 700 220 Highest CTC 40 LPA 24.5 LPA 43.3 LPA 44 LPA 40 LPA Average CTC 5-6 LPA 8-10 LPA 24.8 LPA 6.05 LPA 4.5 LPA There is also a considerable fee difference amongst all the colleges. Microsoft and Google use the innovation of Postman which was a creation by BITS students when they interned at Yahoo. To conclude, BITS Goa stands better than all the above options relying on its outcomes. Students from other universities also, will agree with the following facts about BITS Goa.Read more
Ans. Both institutes are considered to be reputed engineering colleges. Though studying at PEC Chandigarh I realized it will be a better option. Following are the facts which make it better than the other institutes - Placements (Winning Institute- PEC Chandigarh) PEC has a progressive atmosphere for core branches like mechanical. The faculties are cooperative and help in placement training and creative experimental works. Most of the tech giants including Google, Amazon, Adobe, Alstom, Volvo, Fiat, L&T, Indian Oil, etc. visit PEC for campus recruitment. Highest CTC up to 60 LPA is offered to CS, IT, and ECE students. The following table shows a brief overview of the two institutes. Particulars PEC Chandigarh VIT Vellore Median Salary (CSE) ?7 Lakh ? 5.5 Lakh Total Fees (B.Tech) ?4.6 Lakh ?7.83 Lakh Admission Cut off Rank (CSE) 8313(JEE Main) 7000 (VITEEE) The city of Chandigarh has a lot to offer. There might be a few problems regarding food and accomodation in Vellore for non local students. Other than that, PEC provides necessary facilities including an excellent library, workshops, sports grounds and much more. PEC has moderate fees, compared to VIT, as being an institute of national importance. PEC has a better student culture, with no management quota. Also, has a far better employee reputation throughout the years.Read more

Ans. One of my friends graduated from VIT Chennai with a Mechanical Engineering major last year. It is one of the best colleges in Chennai and offers good placement opportunities for the students. Infrastructure: VIT Chennai has a stellar 192-acre campus. It comprises all facilities a student would need. There are two academic blocks, auditoriums, conference halls, smart classrooms, and well-equipped general amenities. The campus also boasts of state-of-the-art sports facilities and gyms. The institute follows an open book examination system. The students need to do projects for each and every subject in all the semesters.
