Established in 2000, formerly as Uttar Pradesh Technical University and later renamed as APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow is one of the largest technical universities in Asia providing quality education over the years.

The university offers various UG, PG and PhD courses in the spheres of education, research and training across the departments of engineering, technology, architecture, town planning, pharmacy and applied arts and crafts. Admissions to the courses are both merit and entrance based.

AKTU, Lucknow Admissions

Admissions at the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University for UG and PG courses are based on the UPSEE entrance test. The university also accepts JEE Mains scores for B.Tech admissions. Candidates applying for M.Tech are eligible for university counselling through GATE scores. For admission to AKTU PhD programmes, the institution conducts a separate research-based entrance test followed by a personal interview round for the shortlisted candidates.

How to apply?

Students who wish to apply to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University may follow the steps given below for the admission process:

Students are required to register for the UPSEE exam on the official website of UPSEE.
All details in the registration form including education details, names and addresses need to be filled accurately.
Submission of the form requires an application fee of INR 1300 for General and OBC category candidates and INR 650 for SC/ ST/ female students.
Results are declared on the official website of UPSEE, which can be consequently checked by the candidates. Interested candidates are then required to fill the application form available on the AKTU website.
Fill the necessary details which includes education details, names, addresses and results of qualifying examinations.
The list of shortlisted candidates are declared on the ‘What’s New’ and ‘important links’ section on the official website.
Admission to UG and PG programmes which do not require UPSEE results are entirely based on the aggregate in previous qualifying exams followed by a counselling round, conducted by AKTU's affiliated colleges.

AKTU Results

The university releases the semester results, merit lists and cutoffs for UPSEE/ GATE/ CAT/ CMAT etc on its official website only. Candidates can visit the official website and get the information for the same.

How to check AKTU Results?

Visit the official website of AKTU.
Click on the ‘Results’ from the drop down menu.
Click on the desired option to check the results. A new window will appear.
Enter your examination roll number along with the displayed captcha.
Click on ‘Submit”.
The result will appear on a new window. Candidates can download a hard copy of the same for future reference.

Ques. Does AKTU Lucknow provide research opportunities for PhD students?

Ans. The university received many prestigious grants such as Visvesvaraya research promotion scheme, Homi Bhabha teaching assistant fellowship and domestic and travel grants for its research activities. Recent research areas include cyber security, Agriculture engineering and food technology and artificial intelligence. Regular workshops are also carried out on the campus to promote the importance of research projects.

Ques. When are the application forms for UG and PG courses released by APJ Abdul Kalam University,Uttar Pradesh? What is the application fee?

Ans. The forms in questions are generally released after the UPSEE results are declared. The tentative dates for the release of the application forms for UG and PG courses are usually in the month of May and are announced on the official website of the university. The application fee is INR 1300 for General category and OBC candidates whereas the application fee is INR 650 for SC/ ST candidates.

Ques. What are documents required at the time of application for AKTU Uttar Pradesh?

Ans. Candidates are required to present a list of necessary documents which include government issued identity card (Aadhar/Passport/PAN card), necessary mark sheets (10+2, graduation results) and passport size photographs.

Ques. What is the UPSEE entrance test pattern for candidates who want to apply for APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University?

Ans. Candidates who wish to pursue UG or PG courses at the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University need to appear for the Uttar Pradesh state entrance examination. UPSEE is an objective type examination which is based on 10+2 syllabus and is carried out in English/ Hindi. Candidates are analysed on the basis of logical reasoning, general knowledge and numerical ability.
