- On November 29, 2020, the University of Lucknow announced the result of seat allotment for the 2nd stage of UP JEE B.Ed. Counseling. 32,535 out of 34,673 candidates have been selected for their opted college seats. The 3rd stage of Counselling will start from November 29, 2020.
- Lucknow University B.El.Ed counseling phase 2 has been started. The university released merit lists for phase 1 and the second round for the counseling has been started for the vacant seats. The counseling process started on October 23, 2020, and will end on October 30, 2020.
- University of Lucknow on 20th September 2020 also announced that the JEE B.Ed counseling dates have been postponed to October 19, 2020. Earlier, the JEE B.Ed counseling date was scheduled for September 21, 2020, but as the university's final semester exams are still on, the university has rescheduled the counseling process to 19th October – 8th November 2020.
- In addition to this, the university has also announced tentative dates for the PG entrance exams 2020. The tentative dates for the entrance exams are 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th of October 2020. Admission to MVA will be based on 100 questions in the MCQ format with no practical or viva round. The LLM entrance exam will also have 100 MCQ and there will be no interview. Admission to the Lucknow University M.Ed program will be based on the written test and academic records of the candidate.

The university provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses in multiple disciplines. The university offers various UG programs including BA, B.Com, LL.B, and BCA whereas PG programs viz. M.Com, LL.M, M.Sc., MVA, and MCA. Candidates are shortlisted for all the programs on the basis of marks obtained in the university level entrance exam. LU UG admissions are mainly done on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the university itself. The brief of the selection procedure of each course is given below:

- MTTM and MBA admissions are done on the entrance exam basis – marks obtained in LUMET or CAT followed by GDPI round – Group Discussion and Personal Interview
- Selection of other postgraduate programs like M.Sc., MA., M.Com, LLM, MVA, M.Lib.Sc., and M.P.Ed. are done on entrance exam basis conducted by the university followed by Personal Interview
- LU M.Ed. Entrance Test is conducted for M.Ed. admissions, aspirants will be shortlisted for Personal Interview round after successfully cracking the entrance.
- Ph.D. admissions are done on the basis of entrance test conducted by the university. The selection procedure depends on the candidate’s past academic records, the proposal on the desired research area, and personal interview.
