Course Curriculum Review

"Mostly theoretical, I guess more practical/problematic questions need to be included. Part 1 was still fine but Part 2 was mostly on theory - also during the Part 2, special emphasis should be given for competitive exams. May be changing the course structure will help or at least realigning of subje"   Read More

Course Curriculum Review

"Back in my day, the course curriculum was fairly simplistic. We had an annual exam, which has since transitioned into a semester-based system. But in my time, we had fixed papers for all three years, each divided into ancient, modern and medieval rubrics."

Fees Review

"Presidency College was known for its affordable fee-structure. In my time, I started college by paying 75 rs per month, which increased to 100 rupees. The fees must have increased by now but as far as my knowledge, it is much lesser than most colleges with such high NAAC rating and facilities."   Read More

Course Curriculum Review

"The course curriculum of the college not just prepares you theoretically but also practically. It is an autonomous university. The curriculum is set in a way so that you are prepared for the jobs that you do, or industry ready. It makes you confident because you know what you would be doing once you"

Fees Review

"The fee structure is feasible. It is not overrated as of now since the university is still in its growth stage. Compared to other colleges in and around Bangalore, this college has a reasonable fee structure."   Read More

Where The Past Meets The Present and Yields To A Beautiful Future

Fees -

The fee structure in the university is consciously subsidized so as to accommodate students from all backgrounds based solely on their merit. The examination fees and the tuition fees are to be paid every six months. The fee structure for B.A. honors in English comes to approximately INR 1,115 per year.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum in English Honours is one of the best that the country has to offer. The curriculum is divided into 6 semesters of six months each. Each semester will have a new syllabus.Along with the honours subjects, the students will also have to opt for a certain number (depends on which semester the student is in) of Gen Ed subjects which must include at least one cross-stream subject (i.e. Science).

Fees -

The Presidency college being a fully funded Govt. Institution, the fees structure was very feasible for normal middle class people. The science department fees was a little higher than the other streams due to the Lab fees. But overall it was affordable and for higher middle class the fees was like peanuts. It was around Rs 1000 per month in 2001 - 2004.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum was very much in depth at per with the Honours course. The college was under Calcutta University so it follows annual exam format. The department used to conduct class tests and other assignments to enhance the skill set. The syllabus was perfect to build the foundation for the higher level i.e. Masters and PHD.
