IIT Jodhpur Admission 2019: M.Tech & Ph.D. Admissions, Application process

IIT Jodhpur was established in 2008, to foster technical education and research in India. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is committed to a multidisciplinary approach of technological development. IIT Jodhpur is ranked on 25th as per the MHRD’s ranking for the year 2016. IIT Jodhpur offers various courses at undergraduate, postgraduate & doctoral level such as B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc & Ph.D.

IIT Jodhpur 2019 Updates

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech registration form will be available till April 25, 2019. 

  • Aspirants can apply online for the above-mentioned courses.
  • The Institute admits students to B.Tech. courses through JEE Main and for M.Sc through JAM entrance examination conducted at various centres across India.
  • For the M.Tech course, only GATE qualified candidates can apply. The institute conducts an Interview/Written test for final selection of the candidates and for M.Sc through JAM entrance examination conducted at various centres across India.
  •  Admission to the Ph.D program is conducted in the month of  June every year based on the performance in the entrance exam.

IIT Jodhpur B.Tech Admission 2019

IIT Jodhpur offers B.Tech in 3 different streams for the duration of 4 years. The application process is online. Admission to the B.Tech courses is conducted on the basis of JEE Mains and JEE Advanced (calculative marks) conducted by the IITs.

The candidates qualifying in JEE Mains need to appear for JEE Advanced. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of JEE Main, JEE Advanced & 10+2 marks followed by counselling.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Admission 2019

Candidate needs to submit the application form online by visiting the official website of the IITJ with a processing fee of INR 300 for General and OBC applicants and INR 150 for SC, ST, and PWD. Admission to the M.Tech course is granted on the basis of GATE score conducted by the IITs.

  • The candidates who have done their B.Tech from IITs need to have minimum CPI of 8 out of 10. Such candidates are not required to appear in GATE.
  • For Bioscience and Bioengineering disciplines: M.Sc candidates need to have at least 70% marks or at least 7 out of 10 CPI or CGPA.
  • Full time M.Tech students are eligible for a monthly stipend in return for 8 hours of work per week of Teaching or Research Assistantship.

IIT Jodhpur M.Sc Admission 2019

Admissions to M.Sc Programs are made once a year (in July) through the all-India level Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) conducted by IITs.  Interested candidates are encouraged to fill the online application form available on the official website of IITJ.

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D Admission 2019

IIT Jodhpur invites applications for admission to Ph.D. programs for the Semester commencing in July. The application process to this course starts in the months of February until March 31.

These courses are offered to candidates who have already attained Master’s degree in their relevant fields. The duration for all these courses is 2 years. The Institute admits students to the doctoral degree programs in three categories, namely Regular Full-Time, Part-Time and Sponsored Ph.D. Program.

Humanities and Social ScienceM.A/ M.Com/ M.Tech/ ME with CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks or B.E/ B.Tech/ Bachelors in Medical services with 70% marks or 7.5 CPI. The candidates having M.Sc degree as the qualifying degree need to have 60% marks or CPI of 6.5.

For Ph.D programs, candidates are selected on the basis of written test followed by interview, based on performance in GATE, CSIR NET, UGC NET & marks in the qualifying examination.

The admission to the course will be based on the interview. The candidate might be called for written test by the college, if necessary. All the candidates who have applied for the course will not be considered qualified for the test. The college will announce separate list for the qualified candidates. The written test is based on General Aptitude, writing skills and subject studied by the aspirant during their UG & PG degree.

IIT Jodhpur Application Process 2019

  1. Candidates can apply online for PG programs by visiting the official website of IITJ & official portal of JEE for UG programs latest by March 31.
  2. Applicants are required to pay the processing fee of INR 300 for General and OBC applicants and INR 150 for SC, ST, and PWD candidates.
  3. Applicants shortlisted for the written test and or interview will be required to bring the final application form duly signed along with a copy of a valid GATE/JAM/Equivalent entrance examination score card at the time of written examination or interview.
