College is over all good but it will be excellent if we get a permanent campus ,it will be ready by 2022. If we have a new permanent campus we will have good faculty , academics , curriculum, sports , extracurricular activities.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
If parents income is less than 1 lakh college give 100% fee waiver if income is btw 1-5 fee waiver is 66%.if above we have to pay. Many banks come to college to give loans as it is a IIT.we can take loan.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is neither expensive nor less. It is less when compared to facilities provided.college also give fee weavers to economically weak students. I think the fees is feasible. They conduct many events also.
College Events :
Meraz (annual fest)
Prayatna(intra IIT sports meet)
Workshops in respective clubs
Every week games (nso activity)
Debates and presentations
And also many other events
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are not that good as it is a temporary campus.but we have coolers two badminton courts and good nature around us.
But it is not cement construction it is a steel construction.we have sufficient bed / room space
External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000
Campus Life :
We have good labs and many activities are held ,like cultural nights , debates , assembly house.sports though don't have that good encouragement as it is a temporary campus but college gives budget and sends college team to inter IIT sports meet and intra IIT sports meet is held every year
Senior students help so much as it is a new campus. There are no alumni , there is no ragging at all in campus. Seniors guide us in right path ,in academics aswell as games and they are really helpful.
All are excellent but few of them have excellent conveying skills.they are friendly ,they play games with us like badminton.they also participate in extracurricular activities.they encourage us. But few of them are not that good.
I wrote joint entrance examination ,IIT jee advanced and got rank and got selected. Then I put up counseling for many iits and got this IIT cse branch. I worked hard to get into the iit.it took a lot of preparation.
Placement Experience :
Our IIT is a newly established IIT.there is no passout batch yet.so we can't tell about placements yet but college provide internships.many participate in this.I hope we get good placements due to the curriculum.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum is excellent compared to other colleges.our core courses are started in 2 semester itself whereas in other colleges it starts at 3 rd semester.we have tierce system i.e our sem is divided into 3 parts.we will complete our courses in segments like it is small course it will be completed in 1 part ,if it is avg 2 parts if it is big course 3 parts( i.e whole sem ).our courses are also good.
Ques. Which is better, between IIT Dharwad and IIT Bhilai?
● Top Answer By Arindam Chakraborty on 19 Apr 21
Ans.Well, considering this question following highlights are listed below concerning these two institutes mentioned in the question.
It is a new institute and mentored by IIT Hyderabad.
It is running as a temporary campus at Government Engineering College.
It is very nearer to Raipur city.
Professors of IIT Hyderabad are here to teach; thereby, faculties are quite high-quality and knowledgeable.
2016-2020 is the first batch of this institute; thereby, it still does not have any record regarding placement facts.
It only has three core engineering streams, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and CSE (Computer Science and Engineering).
Faculties are well-skilled and very friendly.
Some of them also teach at IIT Mumbai (out of 100 top JEE Advanced toppers are mostly joined in IIT Mumbai, so the student needs not to be worried about this institute's teaching quality).
The campus is A+, surrounded by an entirely green surrounding and a superior climate.
The climate here is perfect; however, other nearby IIT locations are either very hot or humid.
Infrastructures are well-organised with first-class computer facilities and classrooms and brand new lab instruments.
It is by the side of two national highways that is NH4/NH48 (Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai road).
It also has two airports connectivity; one is Hubli Airport, and the second one is Belagavi Airport.
District headquarter is present here.
This place is tranquil and peaceful, but there are no big shopping malls and multiplexes.
This place is just ideal for pensioners for the students.
The following table gives a brief overview of these two institutes considering the placement facts:
From the above discussion, it can be mentioned that you must go for IIT Dharwad.Read more
Ques. What is better new IIT like Bhilai or NIT Raipur for CSE?
● Top Answer By Taiti Ghosh on 26 Mar 21
Ans.The IITs are a brand themselves. IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur are getting ranked among the top institutes in the world, and that's a very big achievement for our country. Although IIT Bhilai is a newly formed IIT, it will make its way to one of the top institutes of our country. So if you are able to secure a seat at IIT Bhilai it is better to go for it rather than choosing NIT Raipur.
CSE at IIT Bhilai
CSE at NIT Raipur
Amazon, L&T, UIDAI, OYO, RadiSys, GSTN, Atonarp, Xenia, etc.
Wipro, Vedanta, Essel Mining, Adani, Barclays, Indian Navy, FIAT, etc.
NIT Raipur is also a great institute with great faculty and good placement records over the years, but my suggestion is to go for IIT Bhilai. Students at IIT Bhilai are mentored by IIT Hyderabad which has a great reputation in terms of CSE Branch.
The faculty of the CSE branch at IIT Hyderabad is great at their job and they mentor the students of IIT Bhilai. They also have their own faculty from top NITs which are better in the ranking than NIT Raipur.
So it can be a safe decision to choose IIT Bhilai for the CSE branch and as an IITian it will be also helpful in the future during placements or applying for a job at top companies.Read more
Ques. Which one is better: IIT Tirupati or IIT Bhilai?
● Top Answer By Raunak Srivastav on 26 Mar 21
Ans.Most of the newly constructed IITs suffer from the same problems compared to the old ones. They include lack of infrastructure, unchartered territory, etc. If you have to choose, go by branch and not by the IIT brand name. You can opt for other colleges like BITS Pilani, NIT Trichy/Warangal as they will provide much better opportunities, considering placements.
Tesco, Factset, Bosch, Futures First, L&T, etc.
Amazon, L&T, UIDAI, OYO, RadiSys, GSTN, Atonarp, Xenia, etc.
If you want to study CSE among these two top colleges, it won't require comparison. Both are doing well and have equally good placements, average packages, and campus life. So, for other branches, IIT Bhilai will be a good choice because practicals and research work are better at IIT Bhilai.Read more
Ans.As you all know that IIT Bhilai is quite new as it started in 2016. So, it's working in its temporary campus until the permanent one gets ready.
Despite the temporary campus, you’ll still get a hostel with good facilities. Currently, there are three different hostels:
Castle Dio - Freshers
Castle Teresa - Girls
Castle Ena- Senior Boys
The mess facility is only provided at Castle Ena so you will have to go there for dining. Also, a bus service is there which picks up students to mess.
Some basic features you need to know:
You will be allotted four-seater rooms
WiFi facility is provided which has a good speed reaching up to 2 mbps. Downloading speed is great via laptop with up to 10 Mbps or more.
You will get ample chances to play Indoor games snooker, table, chess, carrom board. A badminton court is also there however you need to bring your own raquettes.
You can also watch TV in the recreation room inside the hostel.
These are some of the facts about the hostels of IIT Bhilai. If you find it appealing enough you should go for it. Ultimately it will be your decision.Read more
Ans.One of my juniors is pursuing his BTech from IIT Bhilai. Some of the important details about the institute are discussed below according to his experience at the institute.
It shares the GEC Raipur campus. As GEC Raipur is a government based engineering college, the campus is good enough to accommodate 3 more colleges at the same time.
In comparison to other IITs, the campus is quite small in size.
The main campus will probably start in the next 5 years.
You may think that a new IIT may not have much good quality of academics but the fact is that the level of faculties appointed is the same for all IIT’s.
In the case of newer ones, you are at an advantage since the class-strength is lower. It is easy to interact with the teachers and understand the topics taught in class.
Moreover, the institute set up the labs at a good pace, so that the academics won’t lag behind.
Cultural Activities & Events:
The college had recently organized its first tech event in 2017, named ‘TECHMAITRY’. In the same year, IIT Bhilai also had its first cultural cum tech fest.
Besides this, there are good clubs and their activities take place such as Dance Club, Music Club, Orators Club, etc.
Sports & Games:
Proceeding further towards sports & games, the institute is getting a large number of participants in upcoming years.
The college participated in Inter-IIT sports meets for games like badminton, volleyball, table tennis, and athletics over the years.
Recently, the college also had basketball, football, and cricket matches and similarly, it will add more in forthcoming years.
For further details regarding the clubs, labs, etc. you may ask your seniors, they will be able to guide you in a better way.Read more
