Remarks :

College is overall very good with very good infrastructure as well as experienced faculties.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The course is quite expensive but the opportunities are very good which justify the fee structure. Some additional cost is already added for placement activities which are quite helpful to plan placement events like Samavesh. It is a good course which is in very high demand in the industry.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have opted an education loan under the student loan scheme through the central bank of India. Application process is very easy and got the approval in a very less time. The interest rate was quite attractive.

College Events :

ARCS summit- A research conference, Innovation- A student event, Samavesh is the placement event for industry interface, Xambooree is the college fest, Xavier meet is the alumni meet where we got a chance to talk to our seniors, Uphoria is the dance and singing competition.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are good except for some food test issue. It has all basic decent amenities but the scope of improvement is always there. It has power backup, water RO, cooler, Wifi & LAN connectivity along with washing mechanic and laundry facility. Students can opt for AC rooms also based on Single or double occupancy.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very lively. There is so many sports event including Xavier premier league. It is a cricket league like IPL within the university. Grounds are available for football, basketball, volleyball and long tennis. The college overall culture is very good.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is very strong in this college. Our seniors were very helpful in placement and overall guidance.

Faculty :

There are 15 faculties (8 core + 7 from another department)in our course along with 4 to 5 visiting faculties from recognized universities like CEPT & SPA. The average age of the faculties is 45 and 80% of them are PhD holders. The lecture is industry-oriented and highly specialized faculty are involved in the subjects.

Admission :

I have applied for UMG course through XUB website and then got a call through email for an interview process. After that, I have received an admission call through the mail and they provide almost 20-30 days to pay the fees. Architects, Planners and engineers can directly apply for the course without any CAT/ZAT/XGMT score. For other backgrounds, XGMT is required.

Placement Experience :

Placement is very good in the college and the average package is around 6.5 lakhs and the highest package in my batch is 9.3 lakhs. companies are Sharda group, convection, Recity, Tata trust etc. A case team is involved in campus hiring and college is very supportive. Almost 95% of students are placed every year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is industry-oriented and students are involved in activities like an urban learning experience. The summer internship is very useful where we got a base for our placement. 3 weeks of the mandatory Urban learning experience (3 credit course) where we go to some government agencies to work. It is a unique course in the urban sector and demand is very high.

Ques. What is the course structure of MBF at Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar?

● Top Answer By Shreyatama Mukherjee on 08 Jul 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Xavier University. According to him, the best part about pursuing a degree of MBF at Xavier's would help you tackle any difficulty and overcome it by meeting the demands of the industry. This is how great the academic pattern of MBF is.  All the areas that are functional in the Business Finance area include - Corporate Tax Planning, Finance Accounting, Corporate Law, Business Analytics, Financial Modelling, Project Planning, etc.  The MBF curriculum covers both the concepts and theories of these functional areas mentioned.  The curriculum is updated with recent industry trends.  It also works upon seminars, burning issues, managing workshops, and interacting with experts from the particular industry.  There are summer internship programs that bring the students on-field to enhance organizational competencies.  The numerous courses taught here help the students get a better grip on ideas and various other concepts that are already discussed in the respective classrooms. The design of this program makes it quite unique. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the industry helps the students get an idea of both- practical and theoretical knowledge so that it helps shape their decision-making and develop analytical skills. Read more

Ques. For MBA in HR, should one choose NMIMS Mumbai or XIMB?

● Top Answer By Samriddhi Sarkar on 28 May 21

Ans. Having friends in both institutions, I suggest you to go NMIMS Mumbai. XIMB HR has recently switched their name from XIMB to XaHR. This cost them a lot in terms of placements. All of the companies, instead of reaching out to XIMB are showing up at NMIMS Mumbai boosting their demand day by day.  If I were to compare both the colleges based on certain parameters, I would say: Batch: The batch size at NMIMS is 60 which are admitted on grounds of strict merit. On the other hand, XIMB takes in candidates on reservation grounds.  Location: If you have decided to reach Mumbai for your MBA, no doubt that it is indeed the best place. NMIMS provides better corporate interface and project opportunities.  Placements -  Categories MBA HR at NMIMS Mumbai MBA HR at XIMB Course Fee  20.84 lakh 18.50 lakh Course Duration 2 years 2 years Highest CTC 22 LPA 28 LPA Average CTC  15 LPA 12 LPA Recruiting Companies KPMG, EY, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, etc. Nestle, Berger, HSBC, American Express, etc. Some of my friends who were on the wait-list of XIMB decided to switch to NMIMS eventually. And some of them withdrew their names from the wait-list just to reach other colleges (these were in the lower-tier) but not XIMB. Even the students who are already studying at XIMB advise others to not reach there.Read more

Ques. How are the placements for the XIMB UMG course?

● Top Answer By Debottam Mukherjee on 22 Apr 21

Ans. The only suggestion considering this question is that it is better not to join these courses. It is due to the current horrible situation in the real estate business market. Thereby, there are minimal chances to get a job as a city planner or infrastructural manager. Besides, the offered salaries are also below that average scale; thus, the ROI is extremely zero. The student will be frustrated later by facing these issues consecutively. However, there are also some similar courses in XUB, NICMAR, RICS SBE, and SCMHRD. None of these is good. If you are interested in this type of career option, you can go for NICMAR, as it is an old institute. This institute also offers an average salary of about 6 LPA. Besides, it is required to study well, prepare for CAT, and get at least 90%. This is the ultimate option and allows you to choose a top-level institute among 30-40 colleges. Otherwise, it will be just wasting of hard-earned money.Read more

Ques. How is MBA-HR at XIMB? I am a fresher should I take it or try once more?

● Top Answer By Arindam Chakraborty on 22 Apr 21

Ans. In recent day’s globalization and the extremely advanced business environment, business organizations worldwide face several uncertainties. It is important for the business's survival, employee motivation, and worldwide development to retain a highly competitive and diverse marketplace.  MBA - HRM at XIMB: The program helps you with vigorous training in HRM theories and practical knowledge. It successfully builds a holistic business perception in student’s minds with positive business principles and social understanding. The course is intended to extend highly experienced HR professionals. It imparts the skill, knowledge, and experiences that are indispensable to direct an organization’s HR department. This program offers in the disciplines of OB (Organisational Behaviour), HRM (Human Resource Management), and IR (Industrial Relations). Students from other study backgrounds like Marketing, Strategic Management, Operations, Economics, Accounting and Finance, Information Systems, and Business Ethics can study. Academics The course is covered within six-term with three months duration for each. Thus, the academic year consists of 3 terms in this institute. The first term starts in June and ends in September. The second term begins in September and lasts up to December, and the third term duration is from December to March. This program includes 16 class sessions in a week, with 90 minutes duration for each program. Thus, the pupil’s workload, such as term papers, readings, projects, field visits, and classroom sessions, is expected to entail roughly 70 hours in a week. Thus, if you are a fresher and scored 55% in graduation with XAT /GMAT//CAT/X-GMT/ NMAT scores, then it is suggested not to waste another year. Don’t wait for another try because the selection process is entirely done on the basis of your performances in XAT /GMAT//CAT/X-GMT/ NMAT. The college administration also takes a writing test, group discussion followed by a personal interview session, so be well-prepared without wasting time.Read more

Ques. Is the placement scenario for sustainability management in XIMB good and worth the money spent on pursuing the course?

● Top Answer By Diksha Jain on 20 Apr 21

Ans. Standing away from the crowd, XIMB Bengaluru weaved sustainability management with MBA. XIMB Bhubaneswar is ranked sixth among the top 100 private B-Schools of India in the Education-World India Private B-Schools Ranking 2020-21. The two-years, of course, has the following features: The admission is on the basis of national-level management entrance exams (CAT/X-GMT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/GMAT). There is an eight weeks summer internship program focused on People, Planet, and Profit. Placements The placements of MBA-SM are average in terms of package. The lucrative points of this branch are: There is a steady upsurge in sustainability-related jobs as compared to functional-management jobs. The Faculty of this branch has experience in various fields like law, organizational behavior, waste management, climate change, biodiversity development, and renewable energy. There is an option for the student to switch jobs to the main functional field rather than continuing in the sustainability sector. The fee of the course is 13.80 Lakhs while the average package offered is 7.5 LPA.  The sustainability sector is booming and one of the interesting sectors. Its scope is slowly emerging with the growing economy of the world.Read more

After knowing the marks of the 12th board, I applied in the Xavier University. It was part of the XIMB so I wanted to be a student of this college. In order to be a part of this college was to successfully pass the Personal Interview. The cut-off of this college is above 75%. Due to coronavirus, all the procedure was taken online. The experience was very nice. And after few days, I got the admission letter from the college. All the verification was taken online.

"Everything about Xavier School of Commerce, XIM University, Bhubaneswar"

Well talking about my University, we have world class infrastructure with well maintained, CCTV Surveillance system. Very disciplined about student's activity. Mentioning about the academics we have a flexible structure where everything counts in your marking component. For example, a subject named Principal of Marketing, the marking component divides into various aspects. 25 marks carries for Mid semester exam, 30 marks carries for end semesters exam, 25 marks carries for assignment, 10 marks carries for quiz and last 10 marks carries for class participation and group activity. In total the 100 marks for entire one semester is covered for one subjects accordingly this method applies to othe
