Students at BSC need to apply through FAFSA soon after they are accepted into the college to be considered for financial aid. Financial Aid can be in the form of work-study, loans, and grants based on financial need and scholarships for meritorious students.
However, international students are eligible for merit-based scholarships. They are considered for merit scholarships by default when they apply for admission. More than two-thirds of new entrants at BSC qualify for renewable academic scholarships and may be eligible for a merit scholarship ranges from 2,000 USD to 15,000 USD per year.
International applicants who wish to be considered for need-based financial aid should apply for the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile (code 1064) at the time of application. BSC usually does not accept any application if the financial document states that the students need is greater than the financial aid provided through merit-based scholarships.
Several special scholarships are awarded at BSC based on the candidate’s achievements, interests, background, or selected major. These special scholarships are often add-ons to academic scholarships and can be renewed provided the awardee meets the renewal criteria.
Students can also apply for international scholarships provided by private organizations or the Education Ministry in respective home countries. Education Loans are another means of financial aid for students.
Work While You Study
The Work-Study program at BSC can be availed of through federal funding for on-campus positions through the Office of Financial Aid. Students can earn between 7.25 USD and 8 USD per hour, depending on their qualifications and the complexity of the job. Earnings are capped at 1,000 USD for one academic year and cannot continue working for the remainder of the year, once a student has earned the maximum amount. Again, if a student fails to work for the maximum award in a given academic year, he/she is debarred to apply for work-study in future semesters.
