Dell’Arte International is a theatre training school in North America that works to foster the relationship between art-place-artist-community. The college is an organizational member of the Theatre Communications Group (TCG), Network of Ensemble Theatre (NET), and Association of Theatre Movement Educators (ATME). Dell Arte offers theatre-making, theatre training, and theatre practice. The college has a 35 years old community of artists who have worked to model and share a sustained ensemble practice. Along with the certificate and master program, Dell Arte also conducts several summer programs and special prison Arts programs. DAI consists of an international touring ensemble, the Dell Arte Company and the Dell Arte International School of Physical Theatre.

Dell'Arte is located amidst the rustic beauty of California’s North Coast with two campuses.

  • The main campus of Dell Arte is a two-story building formerly known as Oddfellows Hall.
  • The ground floor has Carlo Theatre, DAI offices, and a staff lounge.
  • It also has two training studios, a library, two student lounges, and a computer area.
  • The River campus is located near the Mad River. All the PTP classes are held here.

Residence Facilities at Dell’Arte International

Dell Arte does not provide residential facility to the students

  • It maintains one building, the Blue Lake Hotel where students can rent a room.
  • However, it assists students to find suitable accommodation nearby.

Programs offered at Dell’Arte International

Dell’Arte International offers a program for Professional training, the Master of Fine Arts, Advanced Ensemble program, the Bali program, and a summer intensive program.

  • The school programs are accredited by NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre) and BPPE (Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education).
  • The Advanced Ensemble Program a non-degree two-year program for those who have completed PTP.
  • The curriculum is based on a quarter credit system and each credit is equal to nearly 3 hours of coursework per week.

Scholarships & Financial Aid for International Students

Dell’Arte International offers a limited number of scholarships to international students to study in the USA.

  • The Carlo Mazzone-Clementi Memorial Scholarship: It is meant for international students. It is worth 3000-8000 USD and the applications are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Jane Hill Scholarship: This scholarship is worth 3000 USD annually and this partial scholarship is offered to one student each year.
  • Emerging Artist: This scholarship is worth 1000-3000 USD and is for students new to training. Selection is done in May.

Alumni Network

  • Dell’Arte International has more than 1,051 alumni and one-third of them are international alumni and are growing every year. So far, there has been one Tony win, four Emmy wins, One Chicago International Film festival win, eight EMMY nominations, and one Golden Globe nomination.
  • Some notable alumni: Jeff Raz – founder of the Medical Clown Project; Joe Krienke- co-founder of Soma Studios; Jaron Hollander- founder of Kinetic Arts Center[9]
