The Citadel Admission Deadlines

The Citadel’s Cadet Corps and Undergraduate admissions operate on a rolling admissions basis. They begin accepting applications in the summer of the student’s final year in high school.

Through its rolling admissions process, the college evaluates an applicant’s academic portfolio as it becomes complete, based on which they are accepted or denied. The Graduate programs offered at The Citadel each have deadlines of their own, which are listed in the graduate admissions section below.

The Citadel International Admissions

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Official academic transcripts
  • The applicant must get academic credentials officially verified by a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services). The organization must send the evaluated credentials to The Citadel office.
  • Official TOEFL score
  • Applicants will be required to fill a Student Immigration Supplement form before receiving an I-20 form to apply for a visa. The form requires:
    • Bank verification for proof of funding
    • Financial certification

Language Requirements for International Students

International applicants are required to submit the TOEFL scores to demonstrate their English proficiency if English is not their native language. The minimum required scores by the university are given below.

Visa Process for International Students

  • International applicants will be issued Form I-20 from the university after being accepted and if they have submitted the Student Immigration Supplement form.
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the F-1 visa. Submit the form and pay the application fee.
  • For the visa interview, applicants will need to provide the following documents:
    • Copy of passport
    • Application Form for Non-Immigrant Visa DS-160
    • Application fee payment receipt
    • Eligibility certificate for the F-1 Student Status (Form 1-20)
  • Schedule and attend the visa interview

The Citadel Undergraduate Admissions

The Citadel offers 11 evening undergraduate courses to all the applicants. The basic admission process for all the courses is the same. Students who want an undergraduate degree from The Citadel typically complete their first 2 years at a regionally accredited college/university. They then transfer to The Citadel for the final two years of their major. This is not mandatory for all courses but is required for applicants to the following programs – Engineering, Civil, Construction, Nursing.

Admissions to these 4 majors require the applicant to have completed their freshman and sophomore year at a regionally accredited college or university beforehand.

The Citadel Graduate Admissions
