Pine Manor College is a private liberal art college that offers Bachelors’s, Associate, and Master of fine arts degree programs. Instituted in 1911 as women’s college, Pine manor has a legacy of over a century. 

PMC is located in Brookline, Massachusetts. Pine manor is one of the most ethnically diverse colleges of the US with students from over 25 states and 60 countries coming to study in the USA. The college offers 18-degree programs at the undergraduate and associate level.

The college strategically located near Boston which makes it more alluring for international students. The college is popular for its mission of ‘Individualized education’. Recently the college has gained sudden recognition for its first-generation student success designation.

Programs, Campus, and Residence

Programs Offered

PMC offers admission to international students in undergraduate majors, minors and graduate programs. The college has a plethora of courses in over 30 areas in 9 undergraduate majors. It also offers a graduate program on ‘Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing’.

All the bachelor courses being 4-year long, students can also choose associate degree instead which is 2 years shorter.

Irrespective of degree, all the first-year students will be auto-enrolled to the seminar and general education courses.

Campus

Pine Manor College has a wooden campus widespread over 50-acres of land and 5 miles away from Boston. Boston is the most rapidly emerging city, with over 250,000 students pursuing their higher education in the US.

With over 50% of international students, PMC is among the top 5 colleges of the U.S which are most ethnically diverse. Few of the on-campus facilities offered by the college are:

  • Annenberg library with over 50,000 books and DVDs.
  • PMC has 6 student organizations that stress artistry, public speaking skills and fitness.
  • Inherently, every student of PMC gets a personal success coach along with an academic advisor.

Where to stay?

Pine Manor College has 5 residential halls in which first-years live in West Village. It also provides a learning environment that includes first-year seminar classes, with a mentor and a residential advisor at accommodation itself.

These halls can provide housing in the US for around 600 students on a whole. Students can apply for ‘Resident Assistant’ to be a leader in their residence halls.

Admission Process

The admission policy of the college is it accepts admissions all along the year with no virtual deadlines to apply. Admission Requirements

International students have to meet subsequent criteria to step into the college:

  • An official secondary school transcript submitted either directly by your high school guidance office, or official results of the G.E.D.Copy of foreign secondary school records, translated into English if needed.
  • A personal essay of 250 words at least.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation.
  • Video conference conversation with an Admissions counselor.
  • The addition of SAT /ACT scores will be an added bonus to the application.
  • Additional letters of recommendation, from your school teacher and English teacher.
  • Submit the results of the TOEFL, IELTS or STEP Eiken exam. The minimum requirements in the tests are as below:

Scholarship and Financial Aid

PMC is among the most affordable private colleges in the country. All the students receive on-going financial-aid consultation and assistance which might include need-based scholarships, grants, loans, and even work-study. There is a caveat here, students joining in the fall semester cannot avail of any scholarships.

College's Founders Scholarship offers students up to 80,000 USD during the complete course, for their academic performance.

Students are also allowed to avail work-study program which is both on-campus and off-campus. All the students are evenly paid here.

The college promotes third part scholarships like Nextstudent, FastAID, and Scholarships.com, etc. International students can also look for external scholarships or educational loans to fund their college tuition.
