The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is less selective with an acceptance rate of 59%. Acceptance rate shows that the university is very competitive. About 30% of the University’s population consists of international students and represents 54 countries. There are 1,030 international applicants.

Applicants graduated from US accredited schools have to submit SAT and ACT scores instead of TOEFL and IELTS scores. English proficiency requirements are mentioned in the graduate admission section.
Note: TOEFL minimum score of 96 is required for BA in Art History.

Note: Transfer applicants who want to exempt from admission test requirement must have taken a minimum of 12 liberal arts credit including 6 credits of college-level essay writing or English, and receiving grades of "C" or greater.

The admission decision will be given within 8 weeks of the application deadline. Domestic applicants will receive a decision letter via first-class mail.
International applicants will receive decision letters via DHL with comprehensive admit packages that include immigration information. International applicants may be requested for phone or internet-based interview.
