Courses

The institute offers a plethora of courses for international students which includes some 50 Undergraduate degrees and 24 Master’s degrees. The available programs are taught across its six schools and colleges which are namely as mentioned below:-

  • School of Public Affairs

Some of the famous Undergraduate Programs of the institute are Nursing, health science, accounting, marketing, management, elementary education, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, biology, physics, mathematics,etc

Some of the famous graduate programs are masters in Nursing, applied physiology, administration, science education, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, biochemistry, mathematics,etc

Campus and Residential Facilities

The institute has more than 1.2 million square feet Campus size consisting laboratories, classrooms, meeting rooms, residence halls, eateries and many more. It consists of total about 19 buildings such as Ent Center for The Arts, university center, Roaring Fork, library, etc

University has the best campus living in Colorado, featuring luxurious residence halls, appealing dining options and a campus setting. Students of the institute can choose from three types of housing alternatives.

  • Summit Village – it is open for all students in traditional Housing facilities. It has a private bedroom , shared bedroom, large private bedroom with shared bathroom or private bathroom in suite style room layout.
  • Village at Alpine Valley – it is a beautiful hall with gorgeous views of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. It has a single,double and triple rooms layout with a private and shared bathroom and bedroom.
  • Alpine Village Apartments – Residence hall for upper class students. It has a single room with 4 and 2 bedrooms. 

The university Office of Residence Life & Housing does not provide off campus housing but for the convenience of its candidates, it does offer a list of off campus housing. Students can opt for off-campus accommodation which are available at affordable rates around the campus.

Admission requirements:- Students required following document for seeking admission at the institute:

  • All High school, secondary school and for graduate programs college or university transcript ( evaluated by WES and ECE credential agency)
  • English proficiency test scores with the minimum scores being:

Test scores required for Undergraduate Students- TOEFL-ibt score 75 or higher is required or IELTS score of 6.0 or higher. Test scores of graduate students depend on the program. Average score is IELTS score of 6.5 or higher or TOEFL-ibt score of 80 or higher.

  • ACT and SAT Scores (recommended)
  • Program of interest (graduate students)
  • International Student Health Insurance(for graduate courses)

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The institute offers scholarships for international students to study in the USA with more than 70% of the university receiving some kind of financial aid. International students are eligible to apply for all scholarships with exception to those that require U.S. citizenship.

Below mentioned are some of the scholarships offered for international students at the university.

  • Chancellor's Award
    • Award worth 10,000 USD for four years
    • ACT of 23 or higher or SAT 1130 or higher
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  •  Out-of-State Graduate Scholarship
    • Award worth 4,000 USD
    • Students with GPA of 3.5 or greater in undergraduate 

Note that students can also apply for private scholarships, grants and loans at the institute. Students can avail direct subsidized loans at an interest rate of up to 5.05% for UG applicants with financial needs.

Work Study

The university provides work study as a part-time employment program to eligible students. There are two types of work study:-

  • Need-based 
    • Award worth 750 USD to 3000 USD per semester for work of 10 to 20 per week. Jobs are available both on campus and off campus
  • Non-Need-based work study
    • Awards range 750 USD to 2500 USD per semester. 

Apart from this on campus jobs are available based on individual qualifications and skills of the students. Candidates are paid enough for their 40 hour per week work. The organization also has a database for all off campus job opportunities available where one can check and apply for the available opportunities.

    UCCS HONEST REVIEW

    I got recruited for lacrosse and was very interested in the Sport Management program because of its location in the Olympic city. The school itself is gorgeous and was affordable and in my price range.


    Course Curriculum - 

    I think the course curriculum is great. I've learned so much in just 2 years of being here and every professor has a lot of experience teaching and in their field. I love going to class and learning what they have to offer.
