COVID-19 Admission Updates

In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, the university has cancelled all in-person camps and conferences for the year 2020. The Office of Admission is offering Online Information Sessions that educate aspiring students on the to-be-followed procedure for academic admissions. *Note: Financial aids are available to all students. However, these are provided based on the results of Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is the only financial aid application required by Millikin. Once a student is acknowledged by FAFSA, he/she receives financial aid in one of the following ways: merit-based, grant assistance, student and parent loans, and student employment (Work-Study Program). Students are also allowed to enlist help of outside scholarship resources

An USD 150 advance tuition fee is required for reserving a seat at Millikin. This fee is then credited directly as a student tuition.

International Students Admission

Millikin University accepts international students from over 25 countries every year. All applications are processed online, where the international students apply via the Common Application portal.

Students from outside of the US are expected to meet the minimum requirements of the particular course they are interested in. Also, proficiency in the English language is a must if one wants to gain a place in the Millikan student body. Financial assistance is provided to International students in forms of aids, grants, employment, and more.

Although, domestic and international applicants apply via the same portals, they must go through different evaluations to secure a spot. SAT and ACT scores are optional for international students; however, they are required to produce adequate proof of efficiency in English and additional mandatory documents.

Application Portal: Applications can be drafted via the Common Application Portal.

Application Fee: Application is free for all; however, if one’s application is accepted, he/she needs to submit an advance tuition fee of USD 150. This fee is credited later as tuition.

Basic Admission Requirement: Millikin University requires international applicants to satisfy the following criteria for admission.

Visa Process for International Students

Millikin University will only allow you to apply for a student visa to study in the USA if it has received your confirmation and deposit. You are then issued an I-20 form to move forward with the visa process. Based on your application, you’ll be either issued a J-1 visa or the F-1 visa. If you are receiving educational funds (partially or completely) by the government (US or domestic), any international organization or a non-profit one, then you will be issued a J-1 visa. If your entire educational cost is carried privately, you’ll then be eligible for the F-1 visa.

Regardless of the visa category, it is advised that you apply at the U.S. embassy or consulate in your home country for the fastest visa process.

You will need the following when applying at the consulate for a student visa:

  • Non-refundable application fees. This means that if your visa does not get approved, you will not get your money back.
  • An Application Form DS-156, completed and signed. These forms are free at all U.S. consular offices.
  • A DS-157 form for all males aged 16-45.
  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States. If more than one person is included in the passport, each person desiring a visa must make an application.
  • One photograph (37 x 37 mm) for each applicant, showing full face, without head covering, against a light background.
  • For the "F" applicant, a Form I-20A-B. This form shows that you have been admitted into a U.S. college, university or other institution.
  • Proof of financial support.

Millikin University Undergraduate Admissions

Millikin University provides its students access to a plethora of undergraduate courses like Business Management, Accounting, Nursing, Environmental Studies, Communication, Developmental Therapy, Digital Media Marketing, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Entrepreneurship, etc.

Note: The Master of Arts in Teaching degree is anticipated to be implemented in Fall 2020. Currently, it is pending approval by the University, Illinois State Board of Education and the Higher Learning Commission. More information about the degree will be available after approval.
